Reluctantly, I squatted near the rogue so I could carefully inspect the brand, my weary eyes slowly registering the mark that had been seared into his flesh. I let out a frustrated sigh as I sat back, carefully observing the nervous Rogue as I tried to figure out what to do with him.
“Did you find my comrades?” he asked hesitantly, avoiding eye contact
“No, they weren’t there. The place had twice the number of hunters you had told us”
“They must have taken them somewhere; I have to go find them. Please let me go” he pleaded with desperation.
“A rogue with comrades, that’s an oddity” I mused, eyeing the wolf suspiciously
