The helicopter was seconds from lifting off when a thunderous blast cracked through the night. Dan’s eyes flew wide as a convoy of jeeps tore out of the darkness, headlights slicing through the black like blades. Gunfire erupted, a rapid, relentless barrage that lit up the air, metal shrieking, sparks dancing like fireflies in a storm. “What the hell is happening?!” Dan shouted, panic rising fast. “Contact! Contact!” one of the guards yelled, firing back toward the incoming vehicles. The cabin exploded into chaos, shouts, orders, the roar of the rotors drowning out everything but fear.
