Cyril had been Vana’s escort and, sometimes, bodyguard since childhood. In times gone by, he had even tried to play matchmaker by setting her and Caldwell up. Unfortunately, it had not worked out the way that he and Vana had hoped that it would.
Standing beside Aurora, Caldwell feigned indifference. He didn’t like the way Vana and Cyril had come at her, but it made him proud to see the way that she stood up for herself.
