Chapter 19: Good night, my fiancée

It was just a brief peck on her face, but Aurora felt that a sweet feeling was lingering in her heart which made her feel softer from head to toe. Although it happened in a few seconds, Aurora was melted by this kiss. And then she gradually came back to herself and hurriedly opened her misted eyes. Realizing that she didn’t reject his kiss but was also attracted to Caldwell, Aurora couldn’t help regretting in secret, “Are you mad, Aurora? How could you kiss Caldwell…” she said to herself. “I… I’ll go back room now…” she was too nervous to say fluently. Caldwell seemed happy for a reaction like that. With his gentle eyes smiling, he directly held her in his arms. “Hey! Caldwell, what are you doing? Put me down…” Aurora was shocked by his behavior. “He is so bossy tonight.” she thought. “Didn’t you say you are tired? I’ll take you to your room.” Caldwell whispered near to her ear. Their distance was so close that Aurora could clearly feel his breath lingering around her ear. In that second, her ears quickly turned red. Boiled blood spread all over her body and made her feel hot and uneasy in his arms. Caldwell held her in his arms all the way until they entered the elevator, and then he pressed the button for the third floor. Slowly, the elevator lifted them up. In this narrow space, Aurora seemed to hear the sound of her strong heartbeat. When she saw herself blush in the mirrors from every angle around them, Aurora suddenly felt very shy. Finally, she found she couldn’t fight against this intimate and ambiguous feeling anymore. So, she tried to struggle to get down from his arms. “Caldwell… Put… put me down. I… I can walk on my own.” she said. It goes without saying that Aurora should have a better mental quality as she was reborn and had experienced a lot in her previous life. However, she could hardly control her feeling toward Caldwell now… She had never had such an intimate behavior with him in her previous life, not to mention the feeling of her heart racing. “Don’t move. Otherwise, I can’t be sure what will happen next.” he deeply said. Heard this raw warning full of strong implication come from his mouth, Aurora suddenly realized his meaning. She dared not to struggle and stayed still in his arms. Every now and then, she felt very shameful and depressed when she saw the intimate figures from the mirrors. “Well, let it go. It was just an embrace! I won’t have any loss then.” she comforted herself. The elevator took them to the third floor soon. Just when the door opened, Aurora felt like she finally got rid of the breathless air and became relaxed all of a sudden. After that, Caldwell took her to the room and put her down on the soft bed. Aurora breathed a sigh of relief. “Good night. My fiancée.” Caldwell smiled to her. However, Aurora was stunned by his smile. How could she believe that a man who always kept so indifferent would give her a smile? Until he left the room and was ready to close the door, Aurora suddenly came to herself from the astonishment. “Wait, Caldwell…” she stopped him.
