Sherry and Aurora walked to Harlyn’s classroom in silence. Sherry spotted him first and she carried a book over to his desk. She plopped it on his desk to get his attention and said, “Harlan, I found a problem with the exercise that you mentioned to me last time. At first it looked right, but now it just doesn’t add up. Would you please check it over for me?”
Sherry pulled up a chair and sat beside Harlyn. He pulled out a pen and began to go over the work while Aurora stood at the door aghast. She had always wondered about how straight A students interacted with each other. It was unnerving to watch them go about their business like perfect little automatons. Feeling intimidated, she stepped back into the hallway, content to wait for Harlyn there.
