My Best Friend who became my Enemy

Christabel grew up to know Rosaline as her best friend, thier parents were friends and it seems they were given birth to almost at the same time, knowing her was amazing and a part of her childhood that she ever cherished. they lived in a beautiful town 'Maryland' it was more like a city and it was close to the state capital Town land'. one of the mistakes Christabel ever made was to have Rosaline as the only childhood friend she had, Rosaline took the place of many in her life and later rendered her shattered. It all started when they entered the school for the first time, it was during their pre-nursery classes they became so fond of each other, she could remember these moments clearly like she is watching a TV series, they would eat together, play together, in fact, go home together they did everything together. there happen to be a day Roseline was absent from school, and the whole day looked like a year to Christabel, she was lost and couldn't concentrate in class but at this time they were already rounding up the primary school and they were preparing for their common entrance examination into the secondary school. they we're still teens and at this point, they both discovered they could sing, this is where the crisis started in their lives, it was obvious Christabel has a melodious voice than Rosaline and a lot of people had testified to this, sometimes they argue so much about it which doesn't always lead to fight but just a way of catching fun and making fun of themselves which they both understood as 'fun'. After they started singing in churches, people started inviting them to church programs for special ministration and this gave them a level of popularity, they were known for their style of singing and special talent, they decided to give a brand name which everyone can call them 'RoseChris Musical' life was beautiful until one day, they both applied for a talent show audition after a week that they registered they were called for the audition and luckily enough they were both called to compete with eighteen other people making them twenty in numbers, but along the audition process after two people were dropped Rosaline was also dropped, she was the third person to leave the competition she was mad but she pretended to be okay since Christabel was still in the competition, Christabel was sad because her friend left. she managed to get to the top 3 before she was also evicted, all this period it was unknown to her that her friend was already seeing her as her life competitor and having so much hatred for her, she was happy Christabel didn't win, it was written all over her but Christabel was never bothered, while she was in the competition she was thinking about how good it will be if both of them could win the music competition. Months after months they finally entered college they were both admitted into the same college, St Theresa girls high school, their first year in school was fresh and smooth it looked like how they were together growing up their parents love the closeness and Christabel wasn't ready to accommodate any form of misunderstanding between them even when sometimes Rosaline tries to make them quarrel over little things an example was a day they were both walking along the road, Rosaline sighted a cute guy and she walked up to him and told him how cute he was looking, the guy was surprised it was strange to him but at the same time he appreciated her and went his way, Roseline was a little bit dissatisfied with the way she was addressed which was known to Christabel, She flared up at her after Christabel asked if she got what she wanted, insulted her, and left her at the spot, it wasn't her fault the guy did not comply with her because she was a stranger to him, Roseline is beautiful but people do say Christabel is prettier because Chris is fair in complexion and this has always made Rosaline jealous of her skin color, she has always love to have everything to herself alone Chris discovered this earlier but all she was thinking was she admired her. Rosaline left in anger saying it was all because of Chris the guy left, and I was so dump found I had to find my way home. So many other times she would pick a fight with me but all I did was find a way to rectify our differences, I feel we were still knowing each other, we were young and innocent and it was just the two of us. Roseline's mother and my mother were childhood friends, they grew up in the same neighborhood although they were not close the way I and Roseline were close, after rounding up their secondary school education they went different ways, after a very long time they met again in another town which they both relocated to and by then they were already married with kids, they met in a very surprising way. Roseline's mother was looking for a fashion designer that just came to town to sew her new dress for her, she went to the fashion store as she was directed and to her surprise, the fashion designer happened to be my mother, they were both shocked to see each other again after a very long time and from then they renew their friendship and this was how I and Roseline came to be. Reports got to Roseline parents from school that she hasn't been serious with her studies, her report sheet was all red, her parents were disappointed and decided to transfer her to a boarding school with full supervision, sincerely Roseline met new friends in school that changed her view I had tried to talk to her many times but she refused to adhere to my instructions, her parents had compared her with me many times but Of instead of her to change her hatred for me got stronger at this time I still loved her like I used to do. Each time Roseline come close to me pretending like everything is fine, she only wants to get information which she will use against me, her heart was bitter towards me, she wanted everything I had and to get all this she had to start painting me bad before the ones that love me just to be in their favor but God always knows how to vindicate me. At a time before we graduated Roseline had been transferred from my school to another girls school for super monitoring and to better her education but this was not the result, reports reached Roseline's parent that their attention was needed in school urgently on getting to school they discovered that Roseline was pregnant, she was already four months gone. This happened to be shocking news to everyone at this period in Roseline life, life became miserable everyone left her except me, how she got pregnant became a misery she refused to let anyone know but she was able to reveal the person who got her pregnant after lying that she was r***d. Richard was responsible for the pregnancy, I was surprised as everyone was also surprised, Richard happened to be our music tutor and the owner of the studio we normally go for rehearsal, he is much older than we are although Richard is food looking young man, he is tall and dark in complexion he has a cute smile and that can make any girl fall for him. He invited us to his studio when he attended one of our programs he loved the way we sang and he promised to record some of our songs and promote our music career to any level we wanted. Roseline had always skipped classes to secretly visit Richard at the studio without my knowledge, anytime I ask her why she went to the studio alone without me she always says she went for song backups and I wasn't needed, she had once told me that Richard prefers her voice for his client's backups to my voice and I never felt bad because I also have someone backup songs for. She had to drop out of school, her parents couldn't take the shame having spent so much on her she was ungrateful and this is what she brings home, this was the mother's statement when they got home, she refused to allow her to stay in her house and insisted that she should go and meet Richard. Richard was invited to the house for questioning he was scared to go alone so he went with his friend my mum was also present, he admitted that he was responsible for Roseline's pregnancy, at this point Roseline's Dad stood up and went inside, everybody was scared because of his expression and we were all at alert in case he comes out with a g*n, Richard had to make sure he is sitting next to the door, everywhere was mute at that point I could read my friend's mind, her eyes were red her world was crumbling fast at her face she had wished she could turn back the hands of time.
