Fed Up

::Sarah's POV::
I actually woke up to light this time. Back in Trey's gloomy den there was barely any natural light. But I missed this feeling Something so simple yet so nostalgic.
''Morning Sarah.'' Adam yawned.
''Morning Adam.'' I replied.
''So we are going to report to Damien and Veronica.'' Adam scheduled.
''Damien and Veronica?'' I pried.
''Oh yeah while you were gone those two have been acting alpha and luna. They've done a decent job protecting all the assets and keeping enemies at bay.''
Wow.
Even someone who wasn't pack leader or luna was doing a better job than me. I chose to run. They still were fighting. I can't stand myself just thinking about it.
But yes. We will go to them.
''I only have a robe I can't go out in broad day light like this.'' I complained.
''Don't worry I had Melody gather some of your clothing when you slept last night, they're on the bed side table.'' Adam pointed at a neatly packaged bag.
I got up excitedly and opened it up. A pair of jeans and a pink sweater. The sweater wasn't mine but I know it was from Melody's closet.
I started sliding up my underwear under the robes.
''Girl! I may be gay but have some decency.'' he covered his eyes like I was the most abominable thing he ever laid eyes on.
I rolled my eyes and hurried.
10 Minutes have passed and we casually exited the inn. There were no civilians walking the streets for miles due to the situation.
But their thoughts were noticeable. And my head began to pound.
The mansion was not far from the inn, in about 15 minutes we had arrived. I looked up at the massive home. This was where it all started. The house where my life changed forever.
Then I remembered Drake was not here. He was coming, but is a hostile. He is considered my enemy now right? What exactly do I have to do?
I inhaled a large breath and stepped on in.
The place was as if I had never left. I got a stampeding hug from Melody too!
''Luna!'' she cried out loud, ''I thought you were dead!''
''Not yet.'' I smiled.
''Where's Damien?'' I asked.
''Oh he's in the war room or Drake's office.'' she said.
It was so nice to see that warm smile of hers again.
I walked up the staircase and headed to Drake's office. Melody chimed along because she didn't want me to leave her sight ever again.
''My luna roommate is back.'' she skipped along by my side.
We turned a corner and there it was, the bedroom that Drake and I had laid together. The room that so many things went down on.
This would be the time Jen would say, ''There's more than just that he went down on.''
But alas, all I have are empty thoughts.
We proceeded towards the office, every step I took felt like I was missing it all. And maybe I did need to stop running from my problems. I have no choice but to fight it. No more running away.
There was no need for knocking Melody burst through the door, only to witness Damien and Ronnie in the middle of their... uhm... business.
''Oh my goddess!'' Melody shielded her eyes.
The shocked faces on both of them was probably from getting caught. But, I can tell they were also staring at me.
''You're alive?'' Damien gasped.
''Seems like it.'' I told him.
''Where have you been?'' Veronica asked.
I wish I could tell them, but would they just laugh at me if I did?
Either way there had to be no secrets.
''I met up with a vampire.'' I blatantly said after a sigh.
''A what?'' Veronica looked at me strangely.
''Pardon?'' Damien also followed.
''A vampire. I met up with one.'' I declared.
''She's a bit woozy she might need to go to the psych ward and get checked out.'' Adam shook his head.
''No I actuall-''
''So the one who told me to sit has come back?'' a voice appeared behind us.
It was Billy!
His face was scrunched up. He looked pissed, but at the same time tried not to show it.
''I-'' I couldn't bring myself to analyze everything that is going on.
Damien and Veronica were just about to get it on, Billy is putting me in the spotlight, and the impeding situation of my mate coming to destroy the very things he built is also at hand.
''Well at least it's good to see you safe and sound.'' his tone changed. He sounded like he was choking up when he said those words.
''We were all worried about you.'' Veronica said.
I gave a small smile back at her.
''Anyways, uhh welcome back luna. Do you need anything? Who found you?'' Damien questioned.
I glanced over at Adam and they all beamed at his accomplishment. All except Billy who seemed quite jealous.
I then proceeded, ''I know I may sound crazy but do you guys believe in vampires?''
''No? I mean there hasn't been one since forever.'' Damien said.
''So you believe they had to been real?'' I pointed out.
''Well based off stories my mother used to tell me yeah.'' he started looking at me weird again.
This was going nowhere so I decided to drop the subject.
''Also Mr. Lover boy has been ripping apart rogue camps for the king's pleasure. I don't know if you know about it.'' Veronica added.
Oh I knew that. But I wasn't going to tell them how I did.
''You don't seem surprised.'' Melody sounded worried.
''It's not that. There has been too many horrific events this past year. I guess I can say that I am exhausted. You know?'' I stumbled my thumbs together.
''No one can blame you for everything that has happened.'' Adam scanned the room, ''You didn't technically ask for this life.''
''I always wondered how it would have been if I never met Drake. If I didn't meet you guys. There will be things that would make me feel incomplete.'' I can feel myself building up tears.
I quietly cried inside. Because everything that I have went through. I ended up losing my wolf and my unborn baby.
''What's wrong Sarah?'' Billy asked.
''I may be alive, but my wolf spirit isn't.'' I bit my bottom lip.
''What do you mean your wolf isn't alive?'' Melody tilted her head in question.
I really didn't want to explain it to them because until this day I still don't know the answer to that as well.
''That cannot be true,'' Billy interrupted, ''She was able to use her luna powers on me.''
''I don't know either.'' I responded.
The whole room was baffled for a good minute. Then Damien pointed at the war map on Drake's desk.
''Well urgent matters are at hand and as much as there are questions about things we cannot help how about we plan out what's happening in a few days.'' Damien announced.
A few days?!
''Yes luna, Drake has arrived. We need to be in top notch condition and alert.'' he added.
''But what do you have so far?'' I asked.
''You.'' he replied.
''You're the only one who could break the spell.'' Veronica stated.
''How do you know?'' I was beginning to feel the weight on my shoulders already.
''Because every spell has a contract. I am pretty sure he made one that involves you. Since everyone thought you were dead or long gone that might have triggered him to give in to the spell. Just a wild guess.''
But, there was something else that dreaded on in my head.
''You will gain one, but lose two.''
Gina's words echoed within my head. Haunting my thoughts and making it all the harder to be brave and what I have to be.
Does getting Drake back count as the gain? But then, who will I lose?
But a huge part of me did miss Drake. Besides Jen he was the other person who gave me security and warmth.
''Well we cannot risk losing our luna as well. I say think of another plan that doesn't involve k******e with my best friend.'' Adam butted in.
I agree. I never faced the wrath of Drake. I did once, but it wasn't toward me. But remembering how he ripped one of his ex warriors too easily did frighten me now as it did then.
''Dayday and I already have defense tactics in place. But now that we have the key ingredien-''
''DAYDAY?!'' Everyone insynced.
That moment she realized what she had just spilled, her face turned to match her red hair.
''Yeah when were you two a thing?'' I tried to change the subject.
''Well... we aren't really a thing.'' I heard Veronica say.
I shot a glance at Damien who did seem taken aback by her words. But then he sighed and looked away.
''It's complicated.'' she tried to defend herself.
''Well Luna it's nice to have you back. You are not to leave the side of any of us, along as you have two of us with you at all times. That includes not using your luna powers regardless of your emotions.'' Damien struck me with the firmest look in his eyes.
This time I planned to obey.
But still...
Dayday?!
Was that Ronnie's pet name for Damien?
I started giggling to myself, that was so cute!
But then again, I didn't particularly have any pet name for Drake too.
However, the look of dismay in Damien's eyes assumes that he was a different kind of pet in hers.
I didn't know Damien that much, but I was starting to feel like things have been unfair on his end. I came to learn that Damien felt she was his mate, but it wasn't mutual.
When it was just the three of us in that office they both said their pieces. To be honest I felt like a therapist having a session with a quarreling couple at stage 1.
Ronnie and Damien were both very attractive. They would have been a perfect match if the moon goddess permitted it. But, what I don't get is how did something like this happen?
''Well I'll head over to Billy and Adam. We have to prepare for everything that will come.'' I exited the door.
::Damien's POV::
''Not really a thing huh?'' I muttered.
''I couldn't lie to the luna.'' I heard Ronnie whine.
''But in front of everyone else too?'' I narrowed my eyes at her.
''It wasn't like that.'' she looked at me all worried.
But what if she wasn't. What if she had been acting this whole time. What if she was the infiltrating enemy on the grounds? I had to embrace for what I had to say...
''As much as it will hurt me a wise woman once told me: Sometimes holding on hurts more than letting go.''
Her eyes widened and her jaw softly dropped.
''I believe you as well should never be without supervision. You are to stay with two warriors who aren't with the luna. And... you are also not permitted to come anywhere near me.''
