Elana I blinked my eyes trying to process the words that just came out of his mouth. Did he just say I was his mate? I almost smiled in amusement but held my composure. This was too good to be true. "What?" I whispered, trying to sound shocked and confused. Alessandro couldn't stop smiling. "It basically means you're the love of my life. You and I are meant to be together." I raised an eyebrow. "You're kidding, right?" I asked in a mocking tone, but secretly wanted to confirm this. "It's kind of hard to explain right now, but it's true. You are my mate." He said the last part so proudly. "You're crazy!" I needed to keep up the act of a scared woman who didn't know what was going on or where she was. His eyes gave a hint of being hurt at my outburst, but he did not react as such. Instead, he smiled again. "I swear I'll explain everything, and you'll understand soon enough. But that is the truth. You have to believe me," he pleaded. I bowed my head down in thought. "Is that why you've been following me?" Quickly, his face turned bright red. "You knew?" I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "It wasn't like you did a great job of hiding. I mean, you guys sat in the same car in front of my place every day and parked very close everywhere I went. It was kind of hard not to notice... I just didn't think you would kidnap me." That last part was definitely true. I knew they had been following me, but I wasn't sure what they were after. I began to wonder if they knew who I truly was. Now knowing that I was his mate was perfect. This would make my plan run much more smoothly. I thought I would have to seduce him, which would have been extremely difficult for me with Brian still possessing my heart, although I would do anything to get what I wanted. "I wouldn't call it kidnapping... Well, I guess technically that's what this is, but you'll know why I had to do it when we get home and talk about everything." His tone was very sincere. "Home?" I wondered. He smiled again. "Yes. We're almost there. This is where you'll be living from now on with me." I looked out of the window. There were a few trees left ahead of us. Soon we were pulling up to a circular driveway in front of a massive, castle like mansion. "What do you think?" He asked for approval without taking his eyes off me as I took in the view. I wasn't sure what to say. I needed to pretend to be frightened and uncomfortable, but I didn't know how to respond fast enough. I decided to remain silent. The disappointment was all over Alessandro when I didn't respond. "I'm going to take you inside. Don't try to run away. I have guards all over and even if you were to get passed them, these woods are too deep and confusing for someone not accustomed to them to survive." Once again, I didn't respond. I only nodded. I needed to size up this place to find what I have been looking for and extract my revenge. He didn't need to worry about me running away. He should be more concerned with bringing a stranger into his home. I was going to ruin his life, yet he had no idea. And I was going to have fun doing so. Alessandro grabbed my arm and cheerfully dragged me out of the van and into the mansion. The entrance was as jaw dropping gorgeous as one could imagine. There was a white and gold grand staircase with a large matching chandelier in the center of the ceiling. He guided us up the spotless steps to the top floor down a long hallway covered by red and gold carpet. There were five doors on each side of the light gray walls and one door at the end of the hallway where we stopped in front of. "This is our room," he said smoothly as he turned the knob. The room was bright with large windows and a private patio. There was a king size canopy bed with matching furniture decorating the room. The marble bathroom was bright and large as well, but the most breathtaking part was the two giant walk in closets fully stocked an organized. "Our room?" I questioned. This man sure moved fast. "Don't worry, I won't sleep here the first few nights if it makes you uncomfortable." He spoke softly as if in pain by saying so. "You think?" I snapped. I was just kidnapped and taken to a strange place. Did he expect me to just be ok with it? He was taken aback by my sudden outburst and shook his head. " I know you don't trust me right now, but I'm going to change that." He stepped closer to me and pulled out a knife. I sucked in a deep breath pretending to be scared. Taking ahold of my hands, he cut the rope in one swift motion. "I'm going to explain to you who I am and why you're here. You might want to take a seat." He pointed to the bed. I stared up at his face. His thick eyebrows were scrunched together, and his brown eyes were pleading for me to comply. He ran a hand through his shaggy, black hair growing impatient. "Please, have a seat. You don't know how hard I am holding back from kissing you." I smacked my lips and turned sharply in defeat sitting on the edge of the bed. I was going to have fun driving this man crazy. "Thank you," he started. "Please keep an open mind when I tell you everything and believe I would never lie to you." I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "You just grabbed me off the street and you want me to believe anything you say?" He closed his eyes and sighed heavily. "Just hear me out, ok?" When I didn't respond, he continued. "My name is Alessandro Moreno, and I am the Alpha of the Silver Moon pack." He swallowed hard before speaking again. "I'm a werewolf." I couldn't help but chuckle. "What?" Alessandro instantly became offended. "Do not laugh at me!" He almost yelled his order. My body jumped, acting scared of his change in tone. He quickly softened noticing my frightened face. "I'm sorry, really. But I'm an Alpha and I do not allow anyone to mock me without consequences. You're different, obviously, but I still need you to respect me." I remained quiet with my head down staring on the floor. I heard his steps approach me until he was so close, I could smell his cologne. He caressed my cheek and lifted my chin up. I quickly turned my head away not wanting him to see my face. I figured a normal person would react that way. "I asked you to be open minded, love. I'm not lying. I am a werewolf." An unexpected laughter escaped me. "Did you forget to take your meds today or something?" In a matter of seconds Alessandro was standing up straight, fists balled tight, and taking numerous calming deep breaths. Every muscle was tight against his shirt. I couldn't help but stare at the rise and fall of his chest. Then, in a blink of an eye, his bones began cracking, his nails elongated, teeth grew longer and sharper as he morphed into a massive black wolf with white paws right in front of me. I let out a shriek and jumped to the back of the bed. I tried to appear visibly shaken like a normal person would. The wolf stood in front of the bed and made a low, pitiful whimper as I backed away. He hung his head low in sadness. After no positive reaction from me, Alessandro changed back to human form. He stood frozen for a moment completely naked with sad eyes. "I didn't mean to scare you. I just had to show you I'm not a liar." There were no words forming in my mouth. I held my eyes open wide in shock and was breathing heavily. I let my eyes noticeably roam across his very toned body and stopped below his waist to Alessandro's clear erection. I wanted to smirk. He had a nice package, and I wouldn't mind using him if need be, but he sure wasn't on Brian's level. Alessandro followed my gaze. "This is what happens every time I think about you, since the very first moment I saw you. I can't help it." Putting my head down, I tried to make myself blush. I couldn't tell if I succeeded, but I heard Alessandro going into one of the walk-in closets. He came back out wearing basketball shorts and a white t-shirt. He stood silent in thought for some time. "Are you ok?" I shook my head trying to form tears in my eyes. "I- I..." "It's ok. I know it's a lot to take in." He walked over to a mini fridge next to the nightstand and handed me a bottle of water. "Here. Take a deep breath." I accepted and took a sip. "I don't understand. How can werewolves be real?" I let out a small sob, hoping my act is still convincing. Alessandro sat on the bed next to me. "A lot of things are real. I know you need time to take it all in, but just know you are safe. No one here will ever hurt you." I scoffed. "No? Then why am I here?" "I told you already. You are my mate." He sighed before continuing. "Wolves have mates which are like soul mates. We're assigned a mate by the moon goddess... kind of like Cupid I guess." He seemed annoyed to even say that out loud. "Mates will stumble upon each other and will feel the strongest connection to one another. Typically, the wolves' strong smell ability will spot their mate instantly and yell the word, "Mine" to claim them. When that happens, they will never be attracted to anyone else again and become extremely overprotective and jealous over their mate." He looked me in my eyes. "I felt that with you right away, but I realized you're not a wolf. You're a human. I understand you're going to need time even though it's killing me, but I'll wait. And I swear I'm going to make you fall in love with me too. I can't live without you now." I almost burst out laughing. He truly believed I was human, and I really was his mate. It was perfect. I wouldn't have to put much effort into my plan. All I had to do was pretend to start falling for him over time. Unfortunately, I knew that wouldn't happen when I still wanted to be with Brian. But I was willing to stay here and toy with him until I got what I wanted. I shook my head. I wanted to keep him talking before I crushed his heart. "You said you're an Alpha?" He smiled genuinely. "Yes. Like normal wolves, werewolves have packs. I am the Alpha of this pack, the Silver Moon pack. We are one of the largest and strongest packs in the country. I've worked very hard to achieve that," he said proudly. "My beta and gamma, they’re my second and third in command, live here in two rooms to the right of this hallway. The rest of the rooms we passed on our way in are spare bedrooms for immediate family members. My pack warriors live in the west wing of the house. They train almost daily to keep in shape. Omegas, or the servants, live in town homes I built behind here. I'm hard on all of my pack members with good reason, but I make sure they're all comfortable. And now there's you, the Luna, who the pack will see as a respected mother figure. "Uh huh," was all I could get out. I took another sip of water. "How exactly am I supposed to become the Luna?" "After we mate and I mark you, you'll become Luna of this pack." I rolled my eyes. "What do you mean mark me?" "When we mate and are reaching climax, I'll bite into your neck heightening our feelings for each other and sealing the mate bond." He glanced down at my neck as if he wanted to do it right then and there. I laughed. "Well, I'm sorry, but I'm not your mate," I simply said. "I'm in love with somebody else."
