Unexpected

chapter 9: Lucian

 [Jase pov]

    After arriving back at my home I head to my office. I've got a few things I need to take care of. After sitting at my desk and looking through my emails on my laptop. (i might be old as hell but that doesnt mean i dont keep up with the times) suddenly there was a knock on the door. A yelled at them to come in and it was one of my house keepers. She bowed and I motioned for her to say what she needed “sorry to bother you master, but there is a man here to see you. Shall I send him in?” I wasn't expecting any visitors and I had no meetings planned. i shook my head and stood up “no that’ll be fine Laura i will head down to meet with this man myself” she nodded and scurried off

    At the bottom of the stairs, standing in the doorway was the one and only Lucian Greyback. “What are you doing here Lucian. After I assisted you in your takeover I told you to never contact me again.” I said with a bored tone. He stayed quiet for a minute and then continued. 

    “Well that was the plan but i may need your help once again you see, i've recently talked to a seer that lives within the pack borders and she told me some shocking news” he sighed “ can we continue this in your office by chance?”

    I nodded and led him up the stairs, all though I have no interest in assisting him once more. I do like to know what's going on in the world. We reached my office and I sat in my chair and he sat in one across from my desk. “Alright spit it out now I haven't got all day.”

    “ She said that we are on the brink of a great war. That the children of Andria and Colson will take their rightful place on the throne. Specifically the son. She said that one day the daughter will murder me by her own hands. And they both will possess a power unlike anything seen before. Ive searched for them for years. Only luck I had was a lead on where Colson might be” my that is quite the situation.  

    “Well Lucian, you took over their kingdom which is their birthright to rule. They are of actual royal werewolf blood and if a seer said it shall happen, then it shall. You, my old friend, have found yourself in quite the predicament, and there's nothing I nor any of my vamps can do to help you.” i stared him right in the eyes as I said it, i watched fear take over his features and then quickly disappear within a blink of an eye. If you weren't a vamp there was no way you’d notice it.

    “Please Jase, I do not want to die this way. I want to continue to rule! I should be king and so should my son! Not those crimes against nature!” he seems furious.well he did after all do this to himself. 

    “What do you mean by crimes against nature? Last I checked , being the rightful king of your kind, as the moon goddess appointed his family years ago was no crime against nature.” i pointed it out. 

    “You don't understand, there are zero to one cases of werewolves giving birth to a set of twins, one being male and the other being a female. They are that one in all of our history to be born!  That is what makes them so powerful! Once they come of age they will have the combined power to rule the entire supernatural world! They must be stopped!” ah, so thats why he’s so terrified. 

    “Well i'm sorry old friend but i am of no help to you this time around, you just better hope those twins never learn of who you are or what you did. Now, i must get back to my paperwork, ill have Laura show you the way out” he got up and sighed. “This will not only affect me, Jase. all of us will be.” and with that he was out the door where Laura waited. Soon they were both out of my sight.

    How interesting, I just so happen to be mated to Alexandria, so my little princess has more to her story than she realizes. She must never learn that I took part in what happened 18 years ago. And I will personally kill anyone who so much as mentions it to her. 

[Alex pov]

    After I got out of the shower she took me to a small cafe in the middle of town. After we were done eating our bagels and drinking our coffees, we both ordered a second coffee to go. She took me to get my hair and nails done at the salon a few stores down from the cafe. She told me I needed some girl time to let go of the stress of everything going on and boy was she right, the pedicures felt amazing and my feet look as soft as a baby's butt! After we headed back to the cabin I thanked her for such an amazing day.

    “No problem babes! You deserved it, plus think of it as a birthday present from me, you've got to look your best on your day!” she pulled me into a hug and i gladly excepted. Once we pulled apart we headed inside to the wonderful smell of dinner.

    “Hey gram whatcha making it smells delicious!” Sarah asked as she walked up and gave gram a kiss on the cheek and i did the same.

    “Beef roast and veggies, your favorite Sarah, will you be staying the night again or heading home?” she questioned her. 

    “Well of course im going to be staying the night again with all that's been going on, my mother and father will understand. I should go call them real quick though i haven't talked to them since yesterday...i think” she scurried off out the front door to go on the porch.

    Gram put her potholder down and walked around the counter until she was right in front of me “sweetheart how are you doing? I feel you are most affected by all of this and it is a lot. I promise you I would've told you your heritage sooner but, I thought it was best to wait for your own safety.” she looked me in the eyes, concerned for me. I love this woman so much. She can always tell what im feeling even when Bay and Sarah cant. 

    “Honestly gram, im not doing well. I wish i could share my thoughts and feelings with Bay but he won't understand. I know its alot but i know ill be fine. Im strong and i can handle whatever this crazy life of ours throws my way” she smiled at me and put her hand on my cheek, outting a kiss on my forehead and said “thats my girl.” before going to the oven and taking out the roast. 

    She called Bay and Sarah to the dinner table and we all sat and ate. When we were done eating I washed my dishes and headed to my room ready to go to sleep, within minutes i fell into a dreamless sleep.
