chapter 15: he wouldn't

[Bay’s pov]

    Everything, it's just too much. I’m not sure how to feel about any of it. My fathers dead, but I have an uncle who I'll be meeting tomorrow. My mother’s alive but no one knows where she is. I’m supposed to be an Alpha King? 

    “Calm down Bay, everything will be alright. Gram didn't tell us because she was taking orders. Don’t blame her. We’ll talk about this when we’re done here okay?” Alex mindlinked me. I know she’s right. When did she become the level headed one? I mind link a quick okay back and tune back into what grams saying 

    “Don’t worry my darlings, everything will be alright in the end. I know it seems crazy now, and confusing but it's in your blood. You were born for this. Born to lead.”

    Alex was the first to respond this time around. “You always know just what to say gram. But we’re gonna need a little while to process all this.”

    Nodding “yes i understand. It’s a lot to take in in a short amount of time. I’ll leave you two to talk. I love you both.” She got up and went to her bedroom.

    Alex stands up next to me reaching her hand out to me “come on, let’s go sit outside, get some fresh air and you can tell me what's going on in that head of yours okay?” I nodded and let her pull me onto the porch. We sat next to each other on the steps, her head leaning on my shoulder, for about 30 minutes before I finally spoke. “Why keep all of this from us our entire lives, instead of training us from the beginning? I mean I get she was doing what was told to her by her superior but..springing this on us all at once doesn't feel right. I still feel as if something isn’t being told to us. I'm not sure what it is but there are pieces of the story missing. I just know it. “

    She lets out a sigh “I know what you mean. I feel it too. Whatever it is, we can handle it Bay. Us against the world. Never forget that.” I hugged her before we were interrupted by a voice I didn't recognise. 

    “You’re quite right. You don't know everything, would you like me to tell you?” 

[Alex pov]

    I immediately look up and Bay’s already standing in front of me protectively, i get up and walk to stand next to him, looking at a tall, brown haired, brown eyed dude who looks to be our age. He is quite handsome but holds nothing to my jase. 

    “Who are you and what do you want?” Bay snapped. He’s completely on edge 

    “I’m Lucas, you’ve probably never heard of me, but I've heard of you guys. My father’s very threatened by your very existence. I’ll ask once again, would you like me to fill in your missing information?”

    He’s..he’s Lucian Greyback's son? The man who killed our father? “How can we trust you?” i spit out before i could even realise, he looked over to me, and it’s like his eyes lit up 

    “Well I myself have yet to trust you, but the only reason I can give you is that I am not my father” he said sincerely.     “Do you know who helped alongside my father when he became the Alpha king?”

    “Rogue wolves, dark witches and vampires.  Why does that matter?” Bay shook his head Irritated by Lucas. 

    “Oh trust me it matters to your sister. Tell me Alexandria, what has your dear old mate told you about that night?” no. He's lying. Jase would have told me if he was involved wouldn't he? “Jase fain, the most powerful, ruthless, heartless vampire there is, stood beside my father and slaughtered the pack, including your father.”

    “I don’t believe you. He wouldn’t..he would have told me” i managed to squeak out. Bay was now holding me up as my legs collapsed under me. It felt like my heart was breaking. He would have told me. 

    “Sorry to tell you that the missing piece to your puzzle is your mate darling. Why would he tell you the one piece of information that would make you hate him? You know, you know in your heart I'm telling you the truth.” he said but his voice was muffled. My thoughts were flowing everywhere. He’s right. Why would he tell me? Of course he wouldn't tell me. Heartache, replaced with anger. 

    “Why are you here? Your father killed mine, ruined any chance we could have of having a family. Why come here and think for a second we wouldn't try to kill you” he backed up as i stepped closer, anger radiating off of me in waves. “What do you think you’ll gain by coming here and telling me this huh!? F***ing answer me!” 

    “I-I just wanted to meet you honestly I-I had no intention of bringing up jase until i overheard your conversation! It was the only thing that made sense, since I saw you two together this afternoon!” he spit out fast, i guess i'm intimidating. Good to know.

    “We’re more than intimidating darlin, some of our Alpha aura slipped out in you’re anger. We’re growing more and more powerful each day” Stella my wolf chuckled proudly in my head.

    “Why would you want to meet us?” Bay spoke up before i could

    “Because, my entire life my dad told me about your parents and their miracle twins, how powerful they would be, and how dangerous they were. I wanted to see it for myself. And tonight I learned the danger only comes to those who are against you.”

    “Why are we considered dangerous? Because of some powers we were supposed to have? Because we’re stronger? None of that would have been his problem if he wouldn't have killed my father!” with Jase’ help. Anger shopped through me again as I started walking towards him again, Bay trying to hold onto my arm “um, I think it's best if you leave man. I'm not sure how much longer I can keep her from attacking your ass.” 

    “I would have to agree with you on that one, we’ll meet again soon, my father only trusts me to keep an eye on you now that he’s found you. Don’t worry i won’t tell him anything i’ve found out.” he turned, ran and shifted and was gone. Bay came around and put me in a bear hug “come sit down, calm down and then we’ll talk about it alright?” If there is one thing in this shitshow of my life I'm certain of, it’s that my brother will always be there to unscramble whatever’s been jambled. 

    After sitting with his arm around me for a while, I finally spoke up. “Why? Why would Jace have any reason to help him? Why not tell me something like that” tears swell in my eyes, threatening to spill over.

    “I don't want to sound like an ass Alex but, You seem to forget what gram said about him. He himself has told you who he is and what he does. He’s a monster. He murders for fun he didn't need a damn reason to help Lucian” 

    He was right. He’s always right. I Sob into his shirt loudly and he just sits there holding me, saying nothing. I fall asleep slowly, once again dreaming of that night. Except now I know who the people are. 

[Bay’s pov}

    She fell asleep on me crying her eyes out. My heart broke for her. I carried her inside and laid her in her bed, covering her up in her blankets. Moving her hair out of her face I look at her tear stained face, and fury runs through my body. I knew nothing good would come of the vampire. Because of him, my Sister is heartbroken right now. I left her room letting out a series of growls as Jackson fought to get to the surface. He’s more angry than I am. There are two things in this world that we feel strongly about and that is our sister and Sarah. I would go to war for either of them. I take a seat on the porch and wait. I will not move an inch until Jace gets his ass here for training.

    After a long night of watching the stars and moon in the sky, I watch the sun rise and soon after, watch Jace walk across the field. I stay where I'm seated as he walks up in front of me and starts “eager for training are we? When Alex wakes up I have news. We will be starting fight training sooner than planned.”

      “Yeah Alex won't be joining today, matter of fact you should probably just leave.” i stood up, staring at him coldy. 

    “I’m not sure that’s the best idea, is she okay? What's wrong why won't she be training Bay?” he actually looked concerned for her. 

    “Cut the crap dude. Were you ever gonna tell her? Your the reason she won’t be training today! You lied to her! You were working with the man who killed our father!” his face was emotionless but it didn't meet his eyes.

    “No who told you that let me expl-” he was cut off by my fist connecting with his jaw, again and again.

    “NO EXCUSES!” i hit him again

    “For f***s sake will you stop!” he yelled but i didn't listen as i shifted, letting Jackson take over completely and attacked
