Chapter 16: Not just a Ball

I woke up to the little voices of my babies, they are on my bed and trying to wake me up, Harry is pulling my blanket.

“Mommy look what Uncle Nick got you!” Harry said with excitement, I open my eyes and see Harry, Hannah and Nicholas inside my room, and since Harry pulled my blanket earlier, I was exposed with my short short pajamas, Nicholas is standing at the edge of my bed and enjoying the view again, I instantly sit down and struggle to pull the blanket to cover my body. I could hear him chuckling. “Perv.” I told my mind.

“Mommy take a look.” Hannah said pointing her little finger into the beautiful gown that is hanged on the wall.

“Rise and shine baby.” Nicholas said with a cocky smile on his face. “That’s what you are going to wear later.” He said looking at the gown; I did not say anything I just nodded.

“It’s beautiful mommy isn’t it?” Hannah said with her soft voice and very cute smile.

“It is beautiful.” I said smiling and kissing her cheek and both of them run to the door and start their morning trouble. Nicholas is still there standing and staring at me, I didn’t look at him and we are like that for a moment..... Silence......

“Thank you.” I said finally breaking the awkwardness.

“What for?”

“For everything you did for my kids.” Looking at him on the eye, he walks on the bed and sits down on the bed side. He holds my hand and place a kiss on my knuckle, that gives me chill down my spine. “What is wrong with me now? I have never felt this way before. Don’t tell me you are falling for him? Oh no... That can’t be!” My brain told me. I felt blush crept onto my face.

“I will do and give you everything baby, you and the kids are the most important to me.” With his words, I feel something inside me are melting, my heart that I covered with ice suddenly cracks. I am about to say something when he crash his lips into mine. It is not a rough kiss like the first time he did to me but it is more passionate and intoxicated. The crazy thing is that I am enjoying it and find myself replying to his kisses, I even give him more access to explore his tongue in my mouth, I feel his hand roaming my body and pulling the blanket and slip his other the hand inside my tank top. And that’s the cue; I stopped the kiss and moved a little. We are both panting. I am not ready for this, not ready for someone to touch me.

“I am sorry.” I said without looking on him. He didn’t say anything instead; he pulls me closer and hugs me tightly.

“I still need to go to the office today, so I will meet you to the ball. Olivia and Darren will be with you. Now get ready for breakfast.” He kisses my cheek and went out of the room.

I sigh and lazily lay down on the bed again covering my whole self. “What was that?” my brain starts confusing me again, part of me saying do not fall for it, made him suffer as what he did to you before. “You will never forgive him remember?” But my heart says different. I shake my head, I don’t know what to do and I don’t know what to say. I think I am getting more and more insane.

A few hours later, I am standing in front of the mirror, wearing a rose gold shimmering tight gown that Nicholas bought for me. It perfectly fits me, showing every curves of my body. It is really a gorgeous dress and I am certain that it is very expensive. Wearing my nude patent ankle strap heels, put on a light make up and braided my hair into bun then added the Swarovski crystal rose gold pin that matches the colour of my gown, Olivia gave me this morning.

“Are you ready honey?” Olivia sneaks into my room door and Darren follows her and their mouths are like in O shape when they see me.

“Wow! I can’t wait to see Nick’s reaction to this.” Darren said in awe.

“You are so gorgeous honey.” Olivia mutter, I feel shy and feel my heated cheeks.

“Thank you but I feel like I am dying of nervousness now.” They both stared at me and laugh.

I am getting more and more nervous when the car stops in front of a massive hall. Darren opens the car door for me and guides me inside, Olivia is following us. Did I mention? Olivia is also beautiful in her gown, she is a natural beauty.

Earlier in the mansion, Olivia talked to me about what is going to happen in this ball. And I found out that it was not just a ball but our engagement party. I am shock of course. Seriously? Engagement party? Why he did not tell me about this, it is not like I am not involve. I am pissed off, very pissed. I thought I am learning to understand his actions better but he did things like this and I am not comfortable. Really Nicholas? Without me knowing that this day is the day of my engagement, and he did not even bother to tell me when he had all the time this morning.

Then I guess, I will answer him NO to this engagement, I don’t care what will be the consequences, if he wanted me and my kids to kick out in his house, then so be it. I think that is much better.

Olivia apologized to me and begged me to give him another chance and do not spoil the day. I knew where’s she’s coming from and I understand her if he is hurt of course she will get hurt too. But I made up my mind.

Then I see him, standing like a Greek God staring at me while we are walking towards him. He is wearing a navy blue tuxedo, his hair is styled and he is wearing his expensive designer shoes. He is so handsome. And f**k I think I forgot that I am mad at him.

I am surely hypnotized in is charm, I did not even notice when did he release my hand that was wrapped in Darren’s arms and took it by his arms instead. Darren chuckles in his reaction. Then Nicholas bends down to me and whispers something in my ear.

“You are so gorgeous baby.” And that give me Goosebumps.
