Chapter 17: Tipsy Baby

When we enter the enormous hall, everyone is looking on us, Nicholas place his right hand at the back of my waist. He must absolutely felt I got tensed. Flashes of cameras everywhere. I feel intimidated and anxious. Everything is luxurious and well decorated inside and the people are all wearing their best designer suits and gowns. Screaming powers all over the room. All the attentions are on us, we are like a king and a queen who enters the palace.

“Relax babe, I’m here.” He whispered in my ear and I nodded. Then I ask him.

“Do you have something to tell me? Maybe I need some explanation from all of this? I heard this is not just ball your highness?” I arch my brow and face him.

He looks at me and smirks. “

“Ok babe.”

“Don’t babe me, just answer.” I demanded him.

“Just don’t think about it, besides I have a surprise for you.”

“Surprise? I don’t need your surprise Nicholas.”

“Oh you do?” He said teasing me, guiding me to sit down on the chair. I am about to say something when another stunning woman approached Nicholas, she’s almost the same height as him or maybe because of her high heels, she is beautiful too, I could tell she came from a very wealthy family. Then I see the sudden changes in Nicholas’s mood.

“Hi sweetheart, I miss you.” The woman said with her most seductive tone. She hugs him tightly. I look at Nicholas and no reaction, he doesn’t even hug her back instead he pulls away from her and grabs my hand that make stand up from my seat.

“Cassandra this is Arabella my fiancé.” He said and he kisses me on the lips, I felt my heated cheeks. We broke the kiss and we walk toward the group of men that I believe Nicholas business associates. He must be avoiding that woman named Cassandra. I can see that woman frowning when we walk away from her looking at our intertwined hands.

“Sweetheart huh?” I asked teasing him. “Why are you avoiding her?”

“I don’t have business with her.”

“Or maybe, you are done doing business with her?”

He winced and said. “Are you jealous baby?”

“Jealous? Why would I? Oh come on, just answer me.”

“She has nothing to do with me okay?” He groans and I sense he is pissed off. Holding my hand tightly, so I change the topic.

“So what would you think I will say yes to you tonight?” His eyes darkened and looked at me.

“Because you promised me, you will do everything for me, right?” I frown with his replied. “Just to remind you what you promise me Ara.”

“You are a monster.” He didn’t say a word he just chuckled.

I totally forgot about it, earlier I was very determined and confident, now I am feeling upset. Then some men approached him and he became busy entertaining the guests, so I excused myself. I saw Darren and Olivia busy talking to some other people too.

So I went to the bar side, I sit down and the bartender asks me what drink I will have and I asks him too if they have sweet wine, I never drink any kind of alcohol or whatever but today, I just feel the need to drink some. Just one glass will not harm I guess. The bartender handed me the drink and he said that it is the most expensive wine they have, I take a sip and he is right, it is sweet and delicious, and my first time. I am lost in my thoughts again; my brain and my heart are battling from arguments. I finished that glass of wine and I felt like I am already drunk. Wow! Just one glass, I laugh at that thought.

Today, I will be engage to the person I hate, to the person who kidn*pped me and who ruined my life. My master Nicholas or rather monster Nicholas. I ask for another glass of wine, I am enjoying it. I want to feel numb, when my gaze spotted the most beautiful creature tonight.

My Monster.....

Nicholas is truly a monster, his aura; his muscular body his whole characteristic is screaming power. All the people here are bowing to him; he is indeed a respectable man, powerful and popular. All the women are looking at him, some are approaching and I see them, kissing him on the cheek and some hugging him. Stupid, why would he let those bitches kissed and hugged him. Oh no, of course I am not jealous..... No No No... I am never going to get jealous..... Over that monster!!!! Aha!!!

I feel someone sitting beside me.”So you are Arabella?” I turn around and look to see who, Oh it was the girl, the stunning woman who hugged my monster earlier... Oops I..... Am not really drunk right? Just a little tipsy.

“I’m Cassandra, Nicholas’s ex-girlfriend.” I just look at her. “Look I knew the deal with both of you, maybe I could offer you some help.” She said smirking.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Just say No to this engagement and I will help you and your kids move to where Nicholas will never find you.”

I laugh at her. “And why would you do that?”

“Because Nicholas is mine.” She confidently said smirking and waiting for my reply.

“Ow, okay! Thanks for your offer by the way. I’ll let you know my answer later.” Then someone grabs my hand pulling me away.

“Ara are you okay?” Darren asked with worries in his eyes.

“Oh thank goodness Darren you just save me there.” I said smiling but I am struggling to stand up on my own. f**k am I really drunk? Oh no no, I laugh myself like crazy and I am sure Darren noticed me.

“What Ara are you drunk?”

“No....I..... not......I’m okay Dar.” Darren chuckles.

“What did she tell you?”

“Who? Cassie???? Ahhhh nothing... he laugh at the word Cassie.

“Okay let’s go Nick needs you now.” He guided me to Nicholas direction.

I am standing in front of Nicholas, when he asks for the attention of all the people inside this hall.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce to the world the love of my life Arabella.”

People are all attentive and no one dares to make any noise. Then Nicholas kneels down holding a velvet box. I look on Olivia she is like pleading to me. Then I saw that Cassie girl who is holding her glass of wine with a smirk on her face, as if she knew my answer already.

Then the door open behind Nicholas, there standing my twins smiling and Mirna is holding their hands both. Mirna is smiling at me too. Kelly is there also my bestfriend and she is with Darren. So this must be the surprise he is telling me, I widen my eyes as if I couldn’t believe what I am seeing. I look down at Nicholas tears are forming both my eyes. He has the sweetest smiles form on his lips.

“Will you marry?” he asked opening the box revealing the diamond ring.

Without second thoughts, I said “Yes, I will.” Tears run down my cheeks and this time I am sure it’s tears of joy. He stand up and wipe my tears on both of his thumb put the ring on my finger before he kisses me but he broke it suddenly looking at me with surprise.

“Are you drunk?” He asked worriedly.

“No I am not; I just.....had one, oh no two? Glasses of wine.” He laughs at me and kisses me again.

The sound of the people cheering and clapping their hands are all I can hear and their never ending congratulations to both of us.

When I got the chance, I immediately run towards to Mirna and Kelly, I hug them tightly, I so much miss them both. I kiss my babies who look very happy too.

“We have a lot to talk about girl.” Kelly said, I can’t wait and I giggle.

I thought this is the worst day of my life but it turns out to be the other way around.

My monster truly knows how to please my heart.
