CHAPTER 5 Darkness lightened into dim grey shapes. Sensing that she was now back on earth, Callie stood up and took a tentative step. Something bulky was wedged under her arm; she shifted its weight. She put out her free hand to stop herself from bumping into anything, and took another step. Something solid barred her way. She pushed, but it was too heavy to move.
