CHAPTER 4
‘Okay, Callie, let’s go.’
Callie had dawdled after school, deliberately missing the first bus. But El and Meg were waiting for her when she got home. There was no chance of escape. No chance of excuses either.
‘Now, don’t argue.’ El grabbed her arm and propelled her down the path. ‘We’re coming in with you to make sure you do it right.’
‘Do it your way, you mean.’ Callie’s steps dragged, but her mind raced as she tried to come up with any good reason not to do what El wanted. She couldn’t think of a thing. At least, nothing that would convince her pig-headed sister.
