ANKIBELL's DILEMMA

my dad refused to pay my school fees all because I changed the course he persisted I offer.He wants me to become a doctor just like my great grandfather was, my grandfather was, my aunties and uncles are, he is and my step elder sister is "whilly-nilly. " Mind you,I'm just as persistent as he is, if not more. Determined,daring and call me stubborn if it fits so his refusal to pay my fees didn't deter me.In attempt to fulfill my dream,I had to speak with my Government teacher,Ms.Cynthia who turns out to be my favouriteeee teacher.I explained my current situation to her because I wanted to change my status to a Day student which she didn't fail to help.To my surprise,she offered to help me pay half of my fees.Mind you,my mom is oblivious to this whole thing because if she discovers, she'd insist I please my dad which I'm not willing to do this time, in this situation, which entails my career!!I got a part-time job, shopskeeping.School ends at 3:00pm,as at 5:00pm I'd be done with some petty household stuff then I move to the shop to take over till 11pm(as a student!!!)On weekends, I devote my whole day there.Disclaimer:My mom is a single mom taking care of my three other siblings, so I don't want to involve her in all this. I get paid at the end of the week.I'm paid GHC 150.00 (likewow!!!) The total fee is 1,300 Ghana cedis. Ms. Cynthia pays GHC 600.00. I add the GHC 600.00 I gain from work and manage to pay the 100 cedisInitially, I told my mom I changed to a Day student because there's way too much stress in the boarding house which she understood,with the part-time job, I explained to her that I want to work to gain an income when the need arises.she insisted but with constant persuasion she agreed.Things were moving smoothly till my mom sat me down one Saturday afternoon after i had returned from work.she insisted I quit the work because I was working myself out, I looked dishevelled,I had to focus solely on my books and also the time at which I return......talking about the fact that I have school the next day(that's on weekdays)She was right, but it was worth it!😮‍💨I tried explaining, which started to grind her gears, and we ended the conversation. Little did I know that she called my dad the next day[they've divorced, doesn't mean they're enemies], she explained everything to him. >>>The bombshell finally drops<<<< My dad explained everything to her and threatened to stop taking care of me totally [he stopped paying my fees but didn't fees but didn't fail to send money for feeding and clothing].This tensed my mom up because she could barely make enough.In return, my mom started with persuasion, which I didn't heed to. later it became forcefully.Its either I change to become a doctor to keep the legacy or I drop out of school.I want to become a LAWYER for goodness sake.I didn't take her words seriously till I was called to the school's administration one afternoon during class hours...........it was about the change of courseNOW I HAVE NO WAY AROUND THIS. So the changes were made and I started studying chemistry. I did so badly in the test conducted at the end of the semester. Now I've been sacked from home because my mom doesn't want me to be the reason my dad stops taking care of my little siblings.My dad sees me as a dumb headed girl.I went to check out the place where I was but guess what?I've been replaced because I stopped coming there for a while. Should i go back to my family and live to their expectations??????But it's not my fault I'm not doing great in Chemistry.I try my best, but ...... Now....I'mI'm a school dropout, abandoned by family and homeless This is ANKI's DILEMMA.....let's all help Ankibell by sharing our thoughts on what she should do at this point.Its better late than never 😉 😜
