The Missing Key

CASSY'S P.O.V "I can't believe you got the scholarship" mum said. "Me too!" I replied cheerfully. I finally got the scholarship to my dream school. The hard work really paid off. "I'm going to miss you so much Cassy" mum said, tears forming in her eyes and it took me all not to break down. "Me too" "Flight B3C2OA to Washington DC is ready for departure. Please all passengers should move to the plane for take off. Thank you" the intercom said. "Well, that's my cue" I said, standing up. "Take care my love. Don't stress yourself and know I always love you. Study hard okay. I love you." Mum tells me and I hug her again. "Bye" I leave and go off to my new destination. * * * "Aunt Vicky!!"  I exclaimed happily. I ran to her but as I was doing that, I just had to hit someone. "Sorry" I muttered and continued running not even looking at the person I hit. "Oh my dear!" She hugged me tightly. "I missed you so much" "Me too"  we stopped hugging and she analyzed me from head to toe making me a little self conscious. "Look how beautiful you've grown" she said smiling and I blushed. I had on only black skinny jeans, my cream turtle neck sweater and coffee brown ankle boots. My hair was in a ponytail so there really was nothing great about me. "Thank you" "Come on, let's go home" she said and led me to her white Pontiac. I know right? The Kings family were rich ass people. We put my stuff in the back seat and she drove off to my new home. "Oh. Its just you" Lizzy said bored as she opened the door and also making my smile drop. "Elizabeth that is not a polite way to welcome someone in!" Aunty Vicky scolded and she rolled her eyes and immediately put on a fake smile. "Oh my gosh,.your finally here!" She cheered and hugged me then went inside. What did I do wrong? "Okay. Since your leaving for college in the next two weeks, you'll just stay with Lizzy in her room" aunt Vicky instructed making both heads turn to her. "What?!" "What?!" We said at the.same time and I shook.my head. "I mean... Okay aunt" I didn't have a.right to choose where I would stay. "Why can't she stay with Nathan or Davin? Or even better, in the guest room?" She whined and aunt Vicky shot her a nasty look. "How do you expect her to stay with boys and also she's leaving soon, so why making her stay in the guest room and besides, its good for the both of you so you have time to bond" "But I use the both beds in my room" "She is staying with you and that's final" aunt Vicky said authoratively, leaving no space for argument. "Follow me" lizzy says and I go up the stairs with her. I am lovestruck as I step into the room. Two four poster beds with a chest drawer separating them. Beside one bed was a big wardrobe and same went for the other. The room was painted white with long gold curtains. I was awestruck. I looked at Lizzy's side of the room and it was.... Cool. Old rock band posters draped everywhere and stuff like that. "Do not come to the side of my room in any way" Lizzy told me. "What did I do wrong Lizzy? I mean we started becoming friends back in Nigeria and I thought we would be more close if I came here but with the way your acting, I don't think you want to interact with me at all." "When was the first time I spoke to you?"  She asked me. "During the summer?" And she rolled her eyes. "When did I really start talking to you?" "When I started dating your brother" "Right. Now, complete the puzzle" she said and left the room. Ouch. She only talked to me cause I was dating her brother. Well, that's how life goes, I told myself. "Let's get to work Cassy" I said to myself, put my hair in a messy bun and started working. "You make me a, you make me a believer, believer." I sang out as believer by imagine dragons blasted in my ears. "You break me down, you build me up believer, believer"  I was about to spin- I know, its a weird move for the song but I don't care. As I was saying, I was about to spin when I came face to face with my first love. Davin Kings. We stared at each other for what seemed like years before I decided to break the tension. "Hi" No response. "H-how are you?", still no response and I sighed out. "Look Da-" "What are you doing here?" He asked, cutting me off. "What?" "What are you doing in Washington?" "I'm schooling here. I'm on a scholarship" I informed him. "Okay" he said and left the room, leaving me with my thoughts and wonders.
