CASSY'S P.O.V

"Yes- hey you cheated!" I accused him causing Davin to smirk and I really wanted to wipe that smirk off his face. We had been going on like this for about 5 minutes now all because he is trying to force me to go for a banquet. Who does that these days? Fine.. let me explain. After my new self was born, some days later, Vicky got a card inviting her to a banquet held by one of the richest families in the whole of the United States of America...i mean ... why would he want to invite ME.. of all people...

"Come on Cassy. I promise you... it's going to be fun. "

"I really don't wa-"

"And what is the argument about that has been causing me my peace in this house?" Vicky walked towards us.

"Cassy said she's not going for the banquet " he said. I was expecting a dramatic look from Vicky but that's not what I got. Instead, she started laughing and we both started laughing with her and she stopped immediately.

"You know how to joke real good Cassy but this is not the type of thing you joke around with okay.. The banquet is tomorrow night . His royal highness, prince Harry is going to be there and so I expect everyone to be there with me, seeing my whole family was invited. "

"But I have school to return back to.. I've missed a lot already and I dont want to lose the scholarship " thank God. A prefect excuse which is actually true. Vicky raised her eyebrow at me. Do older women still do that?

"Cassy sweetie I know for a fact that you have the brains which got you that scholarship.  You should remember that and again you could always go to another school" ugh... could this get note frustrating?

"But again I'm not related to you Vicky... I mean... I see you as someone close to me but I'm not a family member." There. I said it.. this was the main reason. It was a family stuff. I had no right to intrude or be there. Vicky walked up to me.

"Don't you ever think that you are not part of my family Cassy. Always have... Always will.. and I don't care if you're scared of going cause you are family to me." This was the sweetest thing I had heard in a while. I hugged her tightly and she returned it.

"Okay guys... yeah yeah.. sentimental moment and all.. but please could we actually go shopping now? There's no time" Davin said, ruining the moment causing Vicky to roll her eyes.

"You don't need to worry about that. That's already settled.. a group of designers will pass by tomorrow with dresses for you and Lily and suit and tuxedos for Nathan and Davin."

"Nathan's coming?" I asked without a thought and I realised, making me warm up in embarrassment. They stared at me. Oh God.

"I mean.. like Nathan's coming downstairs to pick his attire right? Cause like I mean.. he doesn't come down these days except to eat" I said with a nervous laugh. Never ever lie again sof.

"Yeah.. sure.. "

"Okay.." I answered.

The rest of the day, I just watched a lot of movies with Davin awaiting the magical night that was set out for me tomorrow.

"Miss Cassy could you please stay at a place so I could be finally and happily done with your hair?" The hairdresser snapped.

"Sheesh.. what got your panties in a twist?" I said making her roll her eyes.

"I am trying to paint your nails miss Cassy so please be calm" the manicure person said. I looked at the makeup artist and it was like she wanted to strangle me. I raised my hands in surrender making the manicure person scream in frustration and I immediately brought it down. They're going to kill me soon.

"I'm done.. I can't anymore" the make up artist said, packed up her stuff and left. Fortunately, she finished my nails before I made her give up so I was okay. The hair stylist was still finishing up with my hair when Vicky walked in. She looked beautiful even if she hasn't worn her dress yet.

"And why are they still working on your makeup Cassy?" She asked, giving me a nasty look and I just smiled nervously at her.

"I took a break?" I answered and she just rolled her eyes.

"We no more have time Cassy.. we can't be late." The stylist and make up artist finished up with me and I put on my dress, checked myself in the mirror. Yup.. all good to go. Wait. I went back to look at the girl who stood in front of me. She was beautiful. Her floor length baby blue sleeveless dress swept the floor and bringing out her beautiful curves and her long beautiful straightened out hair cascaded her shoulders bringing out her collarbones.. Her lashes, long from the mascara with just a little bit of lipgloss and that was it to make her gorgeous. She looked different. She looked brave. She looked strong. This girl was me. I was her and I wasn't letting her out of my sight any time soon.



I walked down the stairs and was met with Nathan waiting. For me. Not. Ha. He looked so handsome.. all gelled and sexed up. Okay too much info. I went down the stairs watching my step.... hoping not to fall.. Gosh.. I hate these daredevils known as heels. I looked around and realised it was just the two of us. Well, this is awkward. Where is everyone? I stood some feet away from him but he just stared at me. What was wrong with him?

"It's rude to stare Nathaniel" I called him by his full name and he chuckled. Oh, so he found this funny. I just rolled my eyes in annoyance.

"Vicky? I'm down here already" I really couldn't stand being in the same room with him for another minute.

"And I am he- oh my heavenly cheesecake, is that you Cassy?" Vicky said in disbelief. I was surprised at her choice of words considering she was a mother of three semi grown adults.

"Is everything Okay Vicky?" I asked her as she looked like she was about to cry.

"Yes.. yes.. it's just.. You look so beautiful right now. I wish your mum was here to see you right now" she said as a tear escaped and I hugged her.

"You're behaving like it's my wedding day Vicky and don't worry.. my mum's watching over me right now. Trust me." I said and smiled at her.

"I'm really proud of you Cassy... you're so grown up now and strong" I smiled at that. I really needed that.

"Could we leave now mum? You know I wasn't interested in going to the banquet" Nathan said in annoyance and I just watched in disbelief how he could be so rude.

"That's rude Nathan" I said out loud and both heads turned to look at me and I warmed up in embarrassment.

"I'm going to go the car." I said and tried to ignore the yelling of "Come back ". I went outside to be met with three cars. Huh?

"And this is why we were calling you." Vicky came out.

"What's going on Vicky?"

"I have to flaunt my money today because there are a lot of people who would want to intimidate my family and I and that is one thing I don't and won't stand for so now I'm flaunting my money. "

"But we're five Vicky and there are only three cars. How's that going to work out?"

"Oh dear... its not a car for each person and you won't be driving yourselves. This is how it's going to be- ugh where are these kids? Lizzy, Davin?!" I saw Davin coming out and boy did he look good but nothing compared to Nathan. Shutup!!!

"Wow. Cassy. You look - you look beautiful " I blushed at that.

"Thank you " I softly said.

"Oh. My. Fudge!" I looked back and saw lizzy staring at me. Wow.

"You look so pretty Cassy " she said and I looked at her in disbelief.

"Have you looked in the mirror or you're just blind?" I told her bluntly. To be honest, I was intimidated. Elizabeth looked beautiful. Her red dress fitting her in all the right curves and her hair curled to the sides.. I wish I was this beatiful.



"Oh shut up. Come on.. let's go". We entered our designated cars. Nathan and I didn't even make a conversation since we both were looking at the passing trees and I just hoped that this was going to be a night to remember. And really... it was a night to remember.
