Chapter 11

"You're kidding!" I can't believe on what I am currently seeing. "Is this even for real?" God! Please wake me up if this is just a dream.

"What is it?"

I look at Jelah who just enter my room.

"Did you learn something?" she asked and sat at my bed. "You look like you see something good."

"Oh. You will not believe what I just found out." I get my laptop. "I scan NASA's system and I saw a different system from a private company. And I saw that they are developing a code for AI and they will link it to a robotic humanoid."

"That's not new." she said. "There are a lot of companies that has been developing AI but nothing succeeded because of indifference of every tech analyst that they are putting in their project."

"But this one is different." I said and faced the screen of my laptop. "The AI that they are developing are for a robot and they will put a human in front of it."

"What?" She grabbed my laptop and read everything in there. "This is insane. They want a human and AI operates the robot together."

"See? I told you." I sat beside her. "AI and robot that will run by the human is common but having them together, syncing together is nearly impossible." She turned to me. "AI only relies on facts and on the program that its creator did and syncing it with human will only create massive contradictions especially if they had to make tough decisions in a dangerous situation."

"I know that." I said. "But our technology right now is way different than before. It is now possible well, if they put the right person in charge."

I can't believe that someone can actually think of something like this.

"Looks like it catch your attention."

"Of course." I can't hide my excitement over this matter and I really wanted to be part of this project but—

I sighed.

PYM will surely not allow if I involve myself on this. And even if I make a way to be part of this without their approval, I am sure that Meir will surely find that out.

He is much smarter than me.

I messed my hair and sighed again.

And I can't risk anything on being caught by that man. I had a deal with the organization that will surely break if I make a problem with them.

Two months ago, in exchange of letting my friends join the team I was forming; they made me promise not to do anything stupid that gives them trouble. And if I do give them trouble, they will immediately replace my team with their own choice.

"Are you afraid that they might catch you?" Jelah stand up and hold my hand. "Will your agreement with the higher ups can stop you?"

"Yes, it can." I sighed. "I don't want to make mistake that gives them the rights to transfer you to other teams."

She's my sister. The rest are my friends so they have to be at my team not the others. And I will do everything I can to stay that because I know that I cannot work with anyone other than them.

But I really wanted this project.

"Hey." Meir entered my room and nod at Jelah then look at me. "Ayane wanted to talk to you. Something important."

"Do we have our schedule for our training already?"

He shrugged her shoulder. "I don't actually know. They won't tell me anything unless you are also there."

"Oh. Okay." I turned to Jelah. "Go with the others. I will see you after our meeting."

She nods. "Yeah, sure."

I go with Meir thinking what Ayane will possible tell me. But all the ideas that running in my head are still impossible since we are still not finish on our first year curriculum.

So, giving us the training we need for us to start our job is not in the option. Then, what is it?

Ah. I don't really care about that.

What I want to think about right now is how can I make a way to involve myself on the NASA and that's company's project.

Well, it's not like I want a credit for that. It's just, that idea is so challenging to me and challenge makes my blood boil.

It gives my brain works faster than before and that's keeps me sane.

"Hi, Yeshira." Ayane greeted me. "It's been two months since I saw you and it looks like you've change a lot."

"Well, I had been in a harsh training with my instructors." I sarcastically said.

Another thing that we agree with them is I also have to undergo strict physical training so that I can protect myself when it is necessary.

"Anyway, please sit down. We have something to discuss with you."

I did what she said and look at her intently. "What is it?"

She sits at her table and look directly to me. "We know that you have the access to the NASA's system."

My eyes widen and turned to Meir. He's the only one I know that will find that out and report me to the PYM. "I got that before I even enter an agreement with you." I gave a deadly glare to him and turned my eyes back to Ayane. "So I didn't violate any rules."

"Yeah, we know." she said. "You have to relax."

"So? What do you want?"

"We also know that you learn something about the current project of NASA together with LuCo." Luisa Corporation, also known as LuCo is a massive techno company specializes in developing robotics suits that can replace the human body parts that has been cut off because of an accident or illness.

They give everyone a chance to be whole again like they never had lost a body parts. Their product is perfectly fit and sync to those who's wearing it.

"And I am sure; you want to be part of that project."

"Of course." I exclaimed. "That project is incredible and I want to be part of this. It will be a history and it is an honor to make something good that will help us to study more the universe."

The AI and robot that they are developing will be put in the space to get more data about it. That's why they want an AI to ensure the success of that mission.

"Then, you can make yourself involve."

"What?" I frowned. "You want me to be part of it?"

She nods. "You, your team and Meir."

"What the hell?" Meir harshly stood up. "You know that I will not work on NASA, especially on that company."

"I know." Ayane sighed. "But that was the higher ups wanted. And you know that you can't turn your back on this."

Meir repeatedly curse and glared at Ayane. "This will be the last time." And he take his leave.

I turned to Ayane. "Why did he react like that?"

"Well, he had an issue with the NASA and the current president of the LuCo."

"Can I know?"

"Just ask him." She gave me a tablet.

"I have my own tablet." I said but I still get that laptop. "What is it?"

"Letting you involve in that project comes with an agreement."

"Again." Well, I shouldn't have surprise. They always need to be upper hand on everything will work on.

"You have to keep you and your team's identity while working on that project." She crossed her arms. "No one has to know who helping them and you can't get any credit on what they will accomplish."

I nod. It makes sense since we are still not done with our training and if someone knew our identity, this organization will face a lot of trouble.

"I can agree with that." I stop rebelling with them since they are giving me everything I want. I owe them a lot and now, they also give me the challenge that I am looking for and hiding our identity to help in this project is just a small price to pay for us.

Well, I don't really care about that. I just want the knowledge and the challenge.

"So, do we have a deal with this?" She initiates a handshake and I took her hand.

"Deal." I smiled and let go of her hand. "But I need some things for this."

She smirked. "I already prepare everything in your building. You can go there and explain the terms to your team."

"Great."

I immediately got out of that office and run towards the building where I set up the quarters of my team.

This is the first project I have with my team and I will not accept any failure. I will prove to the higher ups that choosing to stay with my friends is the best choice.
