Chapter 2

"S-sir Frazer?" Yeah, the person in front of us is our professor. Is he the one who will pick us up here? Because if he is the only thing that might come to my mind is that-- "You're with them. You are one of them." I glared at him. How can he do this to us? To me? "You were the one who gave our names to those people." "Shira, don't judge him," Jelah said. "Maybe just like us, he didn't have any choice but to follow them." I look at her. "Duh! Did you even think why those people knew where we are even though that practice is not on our schedule for this day? And who the hell told to us that we need to practice for that damn dance? And who suggests that place? Do you think that all of this is just a coincidence?" "Shira." "Shut up, Jelah. It is clear to me that he is one of them because if he is not then by now he started to defend himself. But look at him." I pointed my finger at Sir Frazer that still not saying a word. So, I am right. "Where are you going to lock us in? Can you get us there?" I don't want to see him because my patient is not that long. I might do something that will hurt us if he is still around me. "Follow me," he said and started to walk. I look at his back. I want to punch that bastard face because we trust him more, then this is all we got back from him? He is the reason why we're in a dangerous situation. Tss. Once I am in wherever they will lock us, I will do anything for us to escape this place and I will make sure that everyone behind this kidnap incident will be in jail. We follow him until we reach a not-so-big bedroom that is good only for one person. "This will be Jelah's room," Frazer said. Well, I don't want to call him Sir because he betrays us. That room is simple. It has a single bed that looks comfortable. One wooden chair and table. It also has an air conditioner though, it doesn't have a window. "Sir? Can I be with Shira? I don't want to be alone in this place." "I'm sorry, Jelah. But you can't because of her state of mind at the moment," he said which makes me confused. "What do you mean by that?" He just shook his head and let Jelah enter the room then close it. He holds my hand at pulled me toward the room that was located at the end of the hallway. "This is your room." This is not that far from Jelah's room and just like that, it also has aircon, a single bed, a wooden chair, and a table. The only thing that this room has that Jelah's room doesn't, is the window. "Get some rest," he said as I enter the room. "They will tell you later what they want for you." "Whatever." I push him and close the door. I don't want to waste my time on someone like him. When I heard him walk away, I immediately put my bag on my bed and get my things out of it. I have to move fast for our safety. Let's see if they will not release us after what I am going to do. __________ "Damn it!" I am annoyed by what is happening! I tried ten times but I still failed to call for help. And I am more feel irritated when I saw that the sun is now set up. This is absurd! I don't even have the time to sleep because of this! I pack up my things again and put them under my bed. Well, I still need to make sure that they will not get this. This is the only thing that can make us call for help and I don't want to lose that hope. I got up in bed and stretch my arms. I can't sleep in this kind of situation. I look at the door when it open and I glared at the person who is coming. He is the last person that I want to see first thing in the morning. "What do you want?" "Go to the library at the east wing of this hallway," he said. "Fine." I got out of my room and walk through the hallway but of course, they already gave me this opportunity so I first go to Jelah's room to check her up. And I am relieved that she's safely sleeping. I also tried to look at the other room but I didn't see the three of our classmates that were also being held in this place. Where did they take them? Though, because of this, I also knew that we are not the only ones who are being captive here. They are more students like me than are in those rooms on this floor. What is their real objective here? Are they some kind of syndicate? I breathe deeply when I step in front of the library and ready myself for whatever is in there. "Good morning, Yeshira Michirian." a woman greeted me which is I think the one that Sir Frazer will talk to me about. "Who are you?" I lean against the wall and crossed my arms in my chest. "You can call me, Ayane." "One of the higher-ups of this group," I said which makes her smile. "You already know our names." she must amaze at what I did. "We're right for choosing someone like you. You're quite special compared to the others." "Yeah, I know the names of everyone in this organization but I don't know your motive," I said. "So, tell me. What do you want from me?" "I just want you to know something." "About what?" "About this place," she said. "This place is a compound where we train those people who have the potential to learn how to develop more advance software that may help the whole world." “Government?” She nodded. "World Government." "And you choose who you teach and train by k********g them?" "Well, we had no choice because this organization needed to stay hidden and secret. That’s the only thing that we can do to make sure that we were not going to make mistakes in choosing the people to teach and welcome here," she explained. "And to be honest with you, this is confidential information that only our staff knows." I frowned. "You have to think that we kidnap you and any time from now is that we will harm all of you. And then, we will just let you discover things on your own." “Then, why did you tell me this?” "You are a dangerous person when caught up in a situation you do not want," she said while looking straight into my eyes. "If you keep clueless about what's happening, you can make a big step to expose the existence of the organization. And that was a big problem that can cause too much harm to us and the whole world." I didn't say anything because I know; I almost did exactly what she said. If they didn't tell me this information immediately, there's a big possibility that I already revealed everything about them since they did not take my laptop before we entered here. Yeah, my laptop is in me and I used it last night to call for help but I failed so I just did everything to find all information about this group and place. Trying to expose them but of course, that also failed because their system and software are much upgraded than mine. "For now, we still need to be strict even though we told you the reason why you're all here. You can't go out of this compound not unless the superior permit you. You can go and talk to your friends but you know that it will not be easy for you because of the stairway's guard." I frowned when I heard that. Those guards that she's referring to? They are big dogs that almost bite my butt when I arrived here. And take note, huh? They only did that to me while they are being nice to my friends. Hmm. "Those dogs are unfair! I didn't do anything to them but they have grudge against me." She laughed. "Maybe they knew that you're troublemakers." I sigh. To be honest, this is not a bad deal for me because I have the chance to study for free. I don't have to think about anything regarding my tuition fees, but my mother's only problem now. I'm sure, she's worried. And I didn't know how long I will stay here or if it is right for me to accept this but do I have a choice? They bring us here out of our will so, whether we understand the situation, they will never let go of us. We have to stay here and do what they want us to do. "Anyway. Can I call my mother? I am sure she is in a panic after this incident. And I am telling you that she can do a lot of problems. Or maybe—“ "Oh. Enough with your suggestion. You can call them but you can't tell them where you are or else, we are all going to have a problem." she said. "I will get a phone to our superior." I nod. "Thanks. But I still have one last question for you." "What is it?" "What is the name of this organization? I mean, I know the names of all staff and officials but I never knew what the name of this group is." "PYM. That's the only thing you need to know," she said. "So go back to your room." she left and I was about to go back to my room when Chio called me. He was the one who raise and train those dogs that guarded the stairway. I look at him and glared. "Don't you ever go near me with that damn dog! I'm telling you, I will s***h his neck." He laughs and immediately chains up those dogs that tried to bite me on the butt yesterday. “Relax yourself, Shira. Ayane told me not to be too strict on you that's why my friends are all chained up." He looks at the clipboard hanging on the wall. "It is time to update." "Update?" "Don't act innocent, little girl. You know what I am talking about and Ayane told you the real reason why you are all here. We only get your cellphones and we let you have your laptops for that reason" he said. "What now? Update the system that is on your laptop. I'm sure you're already connected to our Wi-Fi." I glared at him. "I already upgrade that. I don't even have the time to sleep also because of that and I have almost done with that system." "Then, you have to sleep. Since most of you are still in shock that's why the superior doesn't assign more schedule for you," he said. "So you have more time to chill since you're almost done with that system." "Who doesn't even shock by what's happening with us? We're just there to practice our dance activity then you people come out of nowhere and point guns at us." I glared at him even more. "And who wouldn't be shocked with your pets?" "Don't be mad at my pets, Shira." He patted the head of his dog. "They are just doing their job. They are just sensitive to those people they know that will give us some problems." "Tsk, whatever you say." I just return to my room and there, I saw our professor that is also part of this organization. "Sir." He look at me and smiled. "They said that you can't sleep that is why I brought you breakfast." "T-thank you." I don't know how to face him after what I said yesterday. I judge him and even said things that I know will hurt him. But then, they can't blame me, right? It is a natural reaction for someone who's being kidnap. "Don't be shy, Shira." he laugh and shook his head. "Just eat, okay?" I sit at the side of my bed and sigh. "Sir, I'm sorry." Yeah, I will just call him with honorifics because I am the wrong one. He didn't put us in danger. "I understand, Yeshira," he said. "Besides, I am not that person who holds grudges and it is also natural for you to react that way since it is looked like we kidnap you." "I just want to know, Sir. Are you the one who chooses who among us will enter this compound?" "In your class, I am the one who choose because I saw who has the potential but in other class, our superior is the one who choose" he explained. "So, except for those students that are good at computers, what are the other qualifications for you to say that someone has the potential to learn everything you teach here?" "Talent and hard work," he said. "Jelah and Kris are both hard-working students. And they did their very best to learn everything about their course. While you, Ives, and Maki, you have the talent that needs to develop to make sure that every system and software you create will be great and useful to more people." "Last question, Sir. What kind of system and software that this organization wants to develop? I mean, I am sure that you all have one big goal and that is the reason why you keep recruiting IT specialists. Am I right?" He nods. "Yeah. We are hoping to achieve the great system and software that could take us into space." I am shocked by what I heard. "You're kidding. You want a system and software for the spaceship?"
