Chapter 3

System and software for spaceships? Are they f*****g insane?

Yeah, I know that in this generation, it is already possible for a human to go to the moon and even mars but the main goal of this organization is more impossible! Why? Because what they want is a spaceship that can take them into an exploration of the whole Milky Way galaxy. So, tell me. Can you blame me for reacting too much after I heard that?

Geez! Are they even serious about that? They will spend their whole life creating something that has a long process. Arrgg! This is getting serious and I think I am going crazy that's why I didn't call my mom. She will still cause a problem if she heard my voice right now.

"Shira," Jelah called me. They were permitted to go out of their room that's why she's here in mine. "What the hell is happening to you? Sir Frazer said that you still didn't sleep since last night and you only ate half of the food he brought."

"Did they tell you something?"

"Nothing. Just about the system that they install on my laptop last night," she said.

I lift my head and look at her. "Do you want to go home? I will do everything I can just to send you home."

"And you're going to stay here?" She shook her head. "No way! It is better to be here than go home. It is better on your side than my parents."

"You need to go home, Jelah."

"We need to go home," she said. "You need to come with me because I will not let anyone take you away from me."

I didn't say anything and just lay in my bed

This organization has a lot of rules and that is the reason why I want Jelah to go home. But she's too stubborn and doesn't even want to listen to me. Damn.

PYM has these rules where if they know the goal of this organization, they will not be able to go back to their own life and family. It is their way to keep it secret. Ayane didn't tell me that but Sir Frazer did.

After they teach everything that we need to learn, we are officially part of this organization and there is no way out of this. We will remain as their member for the rest of our lives or if we manage to do the system that they want.

The system takes more and more time to create.

That's why I don't want Jelah to stay here. I don't want her to be in this kind of situation just because of someone like me.

"Yeshira Michirian."

I look at the open door and saw a guy. I think he is just 2 or 3 years older than me. "Why?"

"I will be your instructor," he said. "You can call me Meir."

"Nice meeting you." I lazily said. I don't have the energy the whole day because of lack of sleep so don't blame me. "You can tell me everything you need to say, I will listen."

He looks at Jelah who's confused about what we're talking about. "Go back to your room, Ms. Melendrez. There is someone there that will tell you everything you need to know."

"But--"

"Do what he said, Jelah," I said and get up in my bed. "Just go back here after dinner." I already have the schedule and copy of everything I need to learn and do so I know when she can come back here. Ah, I already have her schedule so that I can help her if ever she has a problem with her subject.

"Okay." She looks sad but she doesn't have any choice. Well, she doesn't like being away from me that's why she is reacting like that.

When Jelah got out of my room, Meir enters and closes the door.

"Reviewing all the basics, right?" I was about to get my laptop but I was stunned when I feel something sting my shoulder. And there. I saw Meir inject something into me. What the hell is this?

"You can't concentrate on your lesson if you don't have the energy so you need to sleep for now." He said and helps me lay in bed.

I don't want to sleep but the drug is starting to affect that's why I just close my eyes and stop fighting it. I guess, I need to sleep. Sigh.

"Sleep well, Ms. Michirian."

I open my eyes and the first this I saw is Jelah's face. She smiled at me and caresses my hair. "You're awake. Do you want to eat something?"

I shook my head and get up. "I'm not hungry."

"If that's the case, Meir told me to give this to you." She handed me a folder. "You have to answer everything written on that. First quiz."

I open the folder and read everything in here. Well, this is just an easy quiz. I have basic knowledge about our course so I answer it quickly then put it on the table. He will get it later. After that, I look at Jelah. "Did they explain everything to you?"

She sighed and nodded. I didn't expect her to be this calm. What did they tell her? "Yeah. They told me that they kidnapped us with the help of Sir Frazer because they saw our potential to learn more about computer systems at software. And they also said that the organization is doing it for the whole world."

"Oh? That's the only thing they said to you?"

"They also asked me if I am willing to help. They didn't want to force everyone into their goal so if I decide to go home, they will let me go but of course, I have to make sure that what happened here will stay in here."

"And what did you say?"

"I said that my decision will depend on you."

"What?" Jelah always depends on her decision on me just like this one.

"If you want to go home, then we will go home together. But if you will stay, then I will stay too," she said and it looks like I don't have anything to do to change her mind. That's her, after all.

But in this case, I don't have that kind of deal because whether I want to go home or not they will not let me go. I know everything about this organization and I also know every person who's working here so I understand why I am exempted from that deal.

I sigh as hold her hand. "To be honest, I don't know if I should be happy or not for what you said." I should be happy because she will be with me but I don't want her to be part of this organization. There is someone who's waiting for her to come home.

"Of course, you should be happy." She sat at the side of my bed. "We will be together in this place and we'll both become great in computer systems and software."

"But you need to go home, Jelah," I said. "I am sure that your dad is waiting for you."

"Nope. Dad is waiting for us so if you want me to go home, you should be with me."

"But I can't go home." This is Sir Frazer's fault. Maybe the reason why he did answer all of my questions earlier was that they didn't want to let me go. But it is also my fault because I keep asking the question even though I have this feeling that the more information I learn about the organization the more that I force myself to stay here.

She sighs. "Tell me honestly, Shira. Do you even want me to be at your side?"

"Of course, I want to be with you," I said. All the people I know, Jelah is the only one who didn't leave me but just like what I said, there is someone who is waiting for her unlike me. Ah, there is also one. My adoptive mother but I am sure that she just wants me to go home because of the money that my biological mother left for her. And she can get that if I reach the right age.

"Then, I will stay."

"Even if you can't go home forever?"

"I don't care as long as I am with you," she said. "Besides, I do want to go away with my parents. They don't care about their children because the only thing that they want is their career as a politician. So I am not surprised if Dad uses these kidnap incidents to get the sympathy of the public."

Jelah's dad is currently the Vice Mayor of this City and if I am not mistaken, he is also a candidate for Governor in this coming election. And just like how she describes her dad, it is true. How can I say?

Because he is also my dad and yeah, Jelah and I are half-sisters that's why she's too clingy to me. And that man is not brave enough to do his responsibility that's why I grew up with someone who's not related to me.

"Don't worry, okay? Just do what you want and I am always here for you." She held my hand and smile at me. "You're my sister so I will protect and stay with you."

Jelah fell asleep in my bed since she doesn't want to go back to her room. And since I can't sleep, I decide to sit on the floor beside the window to see the stars outside.

I just think that our stay here will not that bad. But still, I need to call my mother so that she knew I am okay. After all, she still took care of me even if it was just for money.

And on the other hand, I wonder what happen to my three classmates that they also bring here. Ayane told me that they stay on the 3rd floor and I want to go there. But I can't because of the dog guarding the stairway. I just want to talk to Maki since he is also my friend.

"Yeshira."

I look at the door and saw Meir standing there. "If you're here for my quiz, you can get that. I already answer everything in that."

"Your friend wants to see you." He gets the folder and checks it.

"Maki?" I get up and come close to him. "

"The three of them want to see you," he said. "Let's go. I will take you there." He comes out first and I followed him but I was stunned when we reach the stairway.

Why? Because I can hear the growl of those dogs that guard this place. Damn it!

"Come on." Meir climbed the stair first. "Don't worry. They will not bite you."

"They are all growling at me."

"Don't mind them. They're just scaring you."

"And they succeed." I am starting to hate dogs. They are not cute to me anymore. Hmm.

"Hurry up, Yeshira!"

"Fine!" I took a deep breath and start to climb the stair hoping that these dogs will not attack or bite me. "You're the worst, Chio!" I shout and run when that dog almost bites me in the butt again. And it is not only one. They tried to bite me three times. Waaah! I will choke Chio for training these dogs like this. I hate them!

"If I have a chance, I will surely s***h their necks," I said as I reach the 3rd floor where Meir is laughing at me. I glared at him. "Don't laugh at me."

'Sorry, I can't help it." he said. "They know the person that can be a pain in the ass. Anyway, let's go."

I just crossed my arms and followed him until we enter the room at the end of the hallway. And if I am not mistaken, the room below this is my room And there, I saw my classmates, Maki, Kris, and Ives.

"Yeshira!" Maki hug me tight. "Waaahh! I'm glad, you're okay."

"I will leave you for a while. I'll just come back later." Meir said and get out of the room.

"Yesh, did they already tell you why they kidnapped us?" Kris asked that I answer with a nod. "And you choose to stay?"

Maki let go of the hug and wait for my answer.

"I didn't choose to stay but I can't go home either."

"What? Why?"

"They didn't get our laptop yesterday and using the system that they send to us, I tried to call for help outside but of course, I failed. So, not to waste my effort, I get all the information I can get to this organization." I said. "And because I already know almost everything about it, they will never let me go or escape. They need to do everything to make sure that this place and this organization will stay secret even if they are forcing me to stay."

"Then you will stay." Ives said. "And I am sure, Jelah will also stay." He is one of the few people that knew about my real relationship with Jelah that's why he also knew the decision of that woman.

"I will stay too," Maki said.

"Are you f*****g serious? Your mother will be sure worried about you."

"I highly doubt that." He crossed his arms. "She only thinks about her business over me so I doubt that she will do anything to know where am I. Besides, this is also an opportunity for a computer genius like me."

"I will also stay." I look at Ives. "My dad hates me because I am the one he's blaming for my mother's death so, I don't mind if I stay and be one of them."

We all look at Kris.

"Well, I don't have family problems, unlike you so I am sure that they are so worried about me but if they teach and help us in creating more advance systems and software, then I will also choose to stay," he said.

"Are you sure?" I asked. "There is a high possibility that you can't go home forever."

"It's fine. This is once in a lifetime opportunity so, I need to grab it." he decided.

It looks like, after this night, our whole life will start to change.
