Episode 5

“Loise, stop!’’ Jason’s command did nothing to me. I’d lost a shoe and was walking barefoot on one leg. There were rocks in the mud, but I didn’t care. He lied to me. The only man I thought was my best friend isn’t just working for Jude but is a killer. “STOP!’’ His voice is high, like an Alpha’s command. He was powerful, yet, that power didn’t make me stop moving. Instead I quickened my pace, attempting to run from him. I heard him behind me, his hand swiped around my waist, pulling my back hard against his chest. I felt the heat of his body, his scent. I remember our moments together, the love I felt for him. But that love came with pain and betrayal. “You’re the shadowblade assassin. All this time, you’ve been killing people. Why?’’ I cried against him. I tried to get him to let me go, but his grip on me was deadly and strong. Something about heavy rain in intense moments like this was beggining to be my curse. As I looked back at him, my eyes were trained on his. “Let me go Jason!’’ I commanded, I saw a glint in his eyes, like yellow. He stepped back, untangling his hand from my body. “It is my duty to protect you, princess.’’ Princess? “What is wrong with you? First you work with Jude, then you’re an assassin and now you’re toying with my mind. Playing sick jokes. I trust..’’ “Look Out.’’ Jason shouted, he threw a spear that passed only a few inches from the side of my face. I stood still like a block of ice. I felt someone scream in pain behind me. I was shocked as I turned, seeing the body of the man on the ground with a spear stuck between his two eyes. “My best friend is a killer!’’ I face palmed, feeling like I’d faint now. “Godess, come take me already. This is enough drama. If this is a movie, please cut..’’ “This is not the time to be fooling around Princess, you are..’’ “Don’t call me that!’’ I growled, the sound so raw that it made Jason kneel. I didn;t know how I had said that, or why Jason was calling me a princess. “Forgive me, I just thought it is time you know..’’ He bowed his head. “Know what?’’ He looked up at me, he stood up, his glowing sword was still in hand. “You are the last of the noble bloodline. The bloodline meant to free and unite all werewolves. —-------------------- I'll continue the story from where Jason reveals Loise's true identity, picking up in Loise's POV. Here's the continuation of Chapter 5: --- Certainly! Here’s a revised version with a more focused and intense ending, stopping at the cliffhanger: --- My mind reeled, struggling to process Jason's words. The noble bloodline? Unite all werewolves? It sounded like something out of a fairy tale, not my reality. "What are you talking about?" I demanded, my voice trembling. The rain continued to pour, soaking us both to the bone. Jason's eyes gleamed with an intensity I'd never seen before. "You, Loise, are descended from the Alpha Prime - the very first werewolf. You have the potential to unite all werewolf packs under one rule and bring peace to the supernatural world. You are royalty, Loise - the only one with the right to claim any and all Alpha thrones." I shook my head, unable to believe what I was hearing. "That's impossible. I'm just... me. Ordinary Loise." "No," Jason insisted, taking a step closer. "You are the rebirth of that bloodline. You have the potential to unite all werewolf packs under one rule and bring peace to the supernatural world. You are royalty, Loise - the only one with the right to claim any and all Alpha thrones." My legs felt weak beneath me. I stumbled back, bracing myself against a tree. "This is insane," I whispered. Jason's expression softened. "I know it's a lot to take in, but it's the truth. I was sent by the Moon Goddess herself to protect you." "Sent by the... what?" I stared at him, utterly bewildered. He nodded solemnly. "I've lived for six hundred years, waiting for the spirit of the Moon Goddess to be reborn within one. And it's you, Loise. It's always been you." The weight of his words crashed over me like a tidal wave. Six hundred years? The Moon Goddess? Me? It was too much to comprehend. "I would fall on my sword if you commanded it," Jason continued, his voice thick with emotion. "My duty is to guard your life with my own and see to it that you find yourself and achieve all you seek." I opened my mouth to respond, but before I could form a coherent thought, a flicker of movement caught my eye. Time seemed to slow as I saw Jude emerge from the shadows behind Jason, a knife glinting in his hand. "Jason!" I screamed, but it was too late. Jude hurled the knife with deadly precision, aiming straight for my heart. In that split second, I saw my life flash before my eyes - not just the life I'd known, but glimpses of something more, something ancient and powerful. But the blade never reached me. With inhuman speed, Jason spun and threw himself in front of me. The knife buried itself deep in his chest, and he stumbled backward, colliding with me. We both crashed to the muddy ground. "No!" I cried out, horror and disbelief overwhelming me. Jude's face contorted with rage and frustration. He turned and fled into the darkness of the forest, leaving us alone in the pouring rain. I scrambled to my knees, cradling Jason's head in my lap. Blood seeped from the wound, mixing with the rain and mud. His breathing was labored, his eyes unfocused. "Jason, no, please," I sobbed, pressing my hands against the wound in a futile attempt to stop the bleeding. "Don't you dare die on me. Not now, not after everything you just told me." He coughed, a trickle of blood escaping from the corner of his mouth. "Loise," he whispered, his voice weak. "I'm sorry... I should have told you sooner..." "Shh, don't talk," I urged him, tears streaming down my face. "You're going to be okay. You have to be okay." I held him close, feeling his life slipping away with each passing second. The rain continued to fall, washing away the blood and mud. Jason's breathing grew more shallow, and panic seized my heart. "Help!" I screamed, my voice carrying through the forest. "Somebody help us!"
