His Billionaire Mystery
Episode One: The Interview
Yvonne Owusu stood outside the towering glass building, her chest pounding. The reflection of the city lights shimmered on its surface, reminding her of everything she didn’t have, which was wealth, security, and a future that felt certain. She adjusted her borrowed blazer and whispered to herself, “ This is it. Don’t mess it up.”
Inside, the receptionist guided her to a private office. The air smelled of polished leather and expensive cologne. The silence was absolute. Yvonne ’s nerves tightened as the door opened and a man stepped in .
At thirty, Gideon was an enigma wrapped in tailored charcoal wool. He had built a tech empire before turning twenty-five , sold for billions, and then promptly vanished from public eye. The tabloids called him, “ The Phantom Mogul,” but to the high art world, he was simply the most dangerous buyer in existence. He bought masterpieces no one else could find, and he never displayed them twice.
“Miss Owusu?” His voice was deep and commanding.
“Yes, sir,” she replied, her voice trembling.
He studied her for a long moment, then said simply, “ you’ll start tomorrow. Seven a.m sharp. Don’t be late.”
Yvonne blinked. No interview questions, no test, just a command. Relief washed over her, but curiosity gnawed at her. Why would a man like him hire her so easily?
As she turned to leave, her eyes caught a newspaper on his desk. The headline read: Anonymous Billionaire Donates Millions to Orphanages.
Her pulse quickened. Could it be him? Was her new boss hiding a life far bigger than she imagined?
Episode Two: First Day at the Mansion
Yvonne woke before dawn, nerves buzzing through her body. She ironed her blouse twice, polished her shoes until they shone, and whispered a prayer before stepping out into the cool morning air.
The morning sun barely broke through the skyline when Yvonne stepped into the glass monolith at precisely 6:48 a.m. Her heels clicked nervously against the pristine marble, echoing through an empty lobby that felt more like a modern museum than a tech magnate's headquarters.
By 6:55 a.m., she stood outside the heavy mahogany door of Gideon’s office. Taking a steadying breath, she smoothed down her fitted skirt and knocked.
In," came the low, resonant voice.
Yvonne pushed the door open. Gideon was already hard at work, framed by panoramic windows overlooking the wakeful city. Dressed in a crisp, dark suit without a tie, he was leaning over a series of oversized blueprints and financial ledgers.
"You're early, Miss Owusu. Good," Gideon said without looking up from his desk. He motioned to a sleeker, smaller desk set off to the side, equipped with a top-of-the-line terminal and three thick leather-bound folders. "Your primary responsibilities are organized there. You will manage my private correspondence, vet art auction manifests, and keep my personal schedule strictly clear after six in the evening. No exceptions."
"Understood, Mr. Vance," Yvonne replied, stepping toward her desk.
One rule above all others," Gideon said, finally raising his dark, calculating gaze to meet hers. "Discretion is absolute. The moment my private affairs become public knowledge, your employment ends."
"I understand, sir. You can trust me."
For the next eight hours, Yvonne immersed herself in Gideon's world. It was a dizzying whirlwind of multi-million-dollar wire transfers, confidential gallery appraisals, and tight-lipped communications with international art dealers. Yet, despite his reputation as a cold, calculating buyer who hoarded masterworks in private vaults, something didn't add up.
Before she could think, a phone rang. He answered swiftly, speaking in hushed tones. Yvonne caught fragments: donation… orphanage… anonymous transfer. Her pulse quickened. The headline from yesterday’s newspaper flashed in her mind.
When he hung up, his expression was unreadable. “Your first task,” he said, sliding a folder across the desk, “is to organize these files. Discretion is everything. Do not ask questions.”
Yvonne nodded, though curiosity burned inside her. As she opened the folder, she saw receipts for millions in donations, all signed under a name that wasn’t his.
Her breath caught. Who was Gideon Vance really? And why was he hiding behind another identity?
