Mina’s lips parted as she sucked in a breath at Noah’s words. Before she could respond, however, she was interrupted by the familiar sound of Alexei’s voice, who was bounding up the hill toward them.
“Miss Mina! Miss Mina!” he called excitedly, waving his hand wildly to catch her attention.
“Alexei, hello!” she greeted him, beaming warmly at him.
“Miss Mina, Cassandra has asked to see all of the Vampire students. Follow me!”
Mina turned to Noah with a questioning expression.
“Go on, come find me later,” he whispered, giving her a wink.
“Hopefully this won’t take too long,” she replied, giving him a lingering smile before feeling Alexei’s small, childlike hand slip into hers.
“Come on, Miss Mina!” he sang excitedly, pulling her after him toward the circular stone formation.
