Ticking the days off wasn’t going to turn out as straightforwardly as I had hoped. Alli had plans.
Now that she was loved up with Colin, she seemed even more invested in pushing me and Neil closer together. She thought it would be good for me. I knew it wouldn’t. She insisted on a double date; she said it would be a great idea. Yes, if we were still characters in your 1950s American sitcom view of life…A double date? f**k sake.
To me it was an utterly s**t idea.
Of course, we’ll all go out together. What could possibly go wrong with my best friend, her boyfriend, and my fuckbuddy all becoming great pals as I dodge about and keep secrets?
