He returned to the house, went up to his bedroom, and removed his dust and dirt-streaked clothes, tossing them into a hamper in the closet. He got his robe and went down the hallway to the bathroom. It might, in fact it did need to be redone as Lizabeth had said, but the water came on when he turned the taps in the tub, and the very old-fashioned toilet with its high tank to hold water above it worked well enough despite its age. The water was chilly, but he’d grown used to that and had learned to wash fast and get out before he turned blue. Getting a water heater was definitely on the top of his list
