Chapter 5Layne started up the road to Kieran’s house and quickly backed up onto the main road when he saw a large delivery truck coming toward him. Guess he’s got the fridge and stove. I should have picked up something for us for dinner because I bet he hasn’t had time to grocery shop if they’re just leaving. Much to his amusement, he found out that was the case. Kieran apologized profusely, saying he’d call to have dinner delivered when it was time, “Or not, since I don’t want more people knowing what’s going on up here.” Layne suggested they could eat in town, instead, and then Kieran could shop afterward.
