Out of the Shadows

Listening to Anna about how much fun they were going to have at the bar tonight, had Lexi rolling her eyes for about the twentieth time that day, Lexi knew that it would be the same as always that she would find a table as far away as possible from all the dancing and laughing.  At 18 Lexi wasn't ugly or even pretty she was actually very beautiful with long thick black hair and green eyes that could make an emerald jealous, at 5 foot 3 she thought she was too short and even though she had an hourglass figure with breasts that was more than a handful and an a.. that was as big and juicy as a couple of honeydew melons, no one saw any of it because she always wore her hair in a bun and baggy sweatshirts and sweatpants.  Anna, her roommate of about 6 months, would never admit it but wished she had Lexi's looks with shoulder-length blonde hair and pale blue eyes, and the only way she could pull off most of her v neckline shirts were using a padded pushup bra and her a.. was just as flat but with her outgoing personality and over the top self-confidence no one would ever know how jealous she was of Lexi.  After begging Lexi for the past week to come with her to the new bar that just opened up she finally convinced her to at least come and be her designated driver so she wouldn't do anything stupid. Lexi knew she would never forgive herself if anything happened to Anna because of her not going so she threw on her favorite purple sweat outfit fixed her hair in a bun and put on her favorite tennis shoes then waited for Anna to appear and of course criticize everything about her. After finally getting it through Anna's head that she wasn't going to change they got in Anna's car and headed to the new bar. After about 40 minutes of driving the curvy back roads they pulled up to a building that had a flashing neon "bar" sign beside the swinging double doors that made you want to go home and put gunsmoke on the tv, as the girls walked inside they seen peanut shells scattered around the floor Lexi wondered how anyone would be able to dance with those peanut shells, but she didn't think about it very long because she knew she wouldn't be doing any dancing just sitting when Lexi looked over to the bar she saw the most handsome man she actually had to wipe her mouth to make sure she wasn't drooling, he was about 6 foot 3 with shoulder-length wavy brown hair coming from underneath his cowboy hat a button-up black shirt with of course about 3 buttons unbuttoned, she could see that his chest had no hair and he had at least a six-pack underneath his shirt.  Anna being Anna just walked up to him and said "hey sexy cowboy how about getting me a rum and coke with just a little ice", he smiled what seemed to Lexi a forced smile then turned to her and said "well beautiful what will you be having" Lexi blushed and said, "just a coke" that's when Anna butted in and said, "yeah barney here is the designated driver." "Barney," he asked "yeah," Anna said " the purple dinosaur, get it she's all in purple", the sexy cowboy rolled his eyes while Lexi's face turned red, why did Anna have to do this anytime we are around people especially men Lexi thought. After that, the cowboy went back to serving other people while Lexi and Anna found a table way in the corner "why do you always have to sit back in the corner?" Anna asked Lexi answered "because you always leave me alone until it's time to leave" "true," said Anna, and right then another cowboy this one with red hair asked Anna to dance, "and here we go again" Lexi grumbled. After what felt like forever Lexi got up and went to the bar this time there was two sexy cowboys behind the bar, the new one had a lighter shade of brown hair and blue eyes instead of a button up shirt he had on a black muscle shirt and what a body his was the reason they made muscle shirts, Lexi could barely breathe let alone speak but she managed to stutter out "can I get another c... please sorry I mean coke" turning redder then ever, the new cowboy smiled and said "for you, you can have both" "by the way my names Nick and this guy here is Travis" pointing over to the other cowboy, "hi" Lexi replied then took the drink and went back to her table wishing she would have at least put jeans on, "oh well" "not that it matters" she muttered starting to feel sad she wanted to find Anna and just go home, she started looking around for her friend and didn't see her anywhere she walked outside and Anna's car was gone it was almost time for the bar to close plus she had left her phone and purse in the car "what the f..." she growled aggravated she went back in all shyness gone she walked up to the bar and asked the cowboys if they saw where her friend went they told her no they were too busy watching her or tending the bar, she about laughed at that, they seen she was pretty upset and asked what was going on, when she told them what had happened they immediately offered to give her a ride home she debated but decided what the h... Lexi sat and waited while Travis and Nick counted the till and cleaned up the place she offered to help but they insisted she just sit there and drink the rum and coke they gave her because why not she wasn't driving now, while she was sitting there she was trying to figure out how she was going to get into her apartment her keys were in her purse which of course was in Annas car, she knew she couldn't go through a window since she was on the fourth floor and the building attendant was on vacation so that was a no go, Travis has let her use his phone to call Anna but it went straight to voicemail she figured it was dead because Anna never charged it until it died, lexi tried calling her own phone but it just rang, while she sat debating all of this, travis and nick had gotten done and headed over to her wanting to know if she was ready, she said yes but then explained about not having keys hoping one of them knew how to jimmy a lock but no such luck, that's when travis spoke up and said she could stay in their extra bedroom at his house "oh" she thought "they are a couple" for some reason that made her feel safer so she said ok and they headed out.
