CHAPTER ONE.
The sun casts shades of orange and pink over the sky, giving it a whole new shade and the hue was magnificent. I stood up in the sky to see the setting sun. It was no longer its bright hot yellowish self, it was dim and orange, a beautiful hue that came with a calming wind, it was no longer high in the air but low, at the edge, waiting for the perfect time to go down and let the moon take its shine.
I walked through the dark alley, my handbag hanging loosely on my shoulder. I was not bothered about the lonely dark alley, as I walked through it whenever I needed to get home early or get to school early and trouble had never visited me in this alley.
Or so I thought.
Cold air whipped past me and played with my hair, causing a chill down my spine as I walked through the alley. I was beginning to feel anxious as I looked around the alley.
‘What was wrong with me?’
I was anxious for no reason as I walked through the lonely dark alley, clutching my handbag tightly.
The eerie silence was cut through by a sharp, deep voice.
“Hey bunny, did you miss me,” the deep voice cut through the silence like a knife.
I turned around to see a tall muscular figure hidden in the shadows, arms folded.
“Who are you?” I asked, taking three steps back. Chills are running down my spine. I shivered slightly at the chilling air, and the figure took two steps forward, the shadows hiding his face.
“Oh c’mon Angela doesn’t be scared” he taunted me, amusement clear in his voice.
“How do you know my name?” I asked, squinting my eyes and trying to get a glimpse of the stranger.
“Oh please, I know more than your name bunny, I know everything about you,” he said, taking two more steps.
“So you are a stalker then, how long have you been stalking me?” I asked, panicked as I took more steps back.
“I’m not a stalker bunny, I’m your nightmare,” the voice said and, just like the wind, he disappeared into the shadows like he was never there. My heart sank into my stomach as his last words echoed in my head.
I’m your nightmare.
I quickly turned around ready to leave this alley when I bumped into a hard-toned chest. Looking up, I felt my heart sink deeper into my stomach as I felt the color drain from my face. I paled as I felt a strong fatigue coming.
“Did you miss me bunny”, the same voice that his behind the shadows said he said, but this time I could see his full face and the sight of him made me nauseous, my dread of what I had always feared had returned.
Leo Miller.
My verified bully, he was indeed my nightmare. Leo had always bulled me right from middle school for reasons best known to him. He had left the town two years ago due to family issues. We no longer attended the same high school nor did each other. It was two years of complete and utter peace. I didn’t always have to watch my back or skip classes just to avoid him, he was a terror to me.
And now he was back, but why?
I had thought and wished for him to never come back here, but voila, things don’t ever go as you plan.
He went back to continue from where he left off.
All I wished was to have a peaceful last year. I would turn eighteen, find my mate and also get my wolf. It wasn’t that much to ask, but Leo f*****g Miller took it upon himself to ruin my plan, a deep frown etched on my face as I sneered at him.
“What are you doing here Leo?” I asked, putting on a bold face even though I was shaking with fear.
“That is not what I asked, Angela,” he said, taking slow steps towards me.
“And that’s not what I asked either” I retorted, my heart hammering in my chest; I was still scared of him even after he had left two years ago.
“Sassy I see”
Before I could bat my lashes, he gripped me by my waist, pinning me to the nearby wall.
“Answer my question bunny, DID. YOU. MISS. ME” he gritted out his face incredibly close to me, he provided little space for me as I could smell his minty breath and also feel his warmth.
“Let me go, miller”, I said in a low voice, as his fingers pierced into my skin.
“Oh, so we are now on first name bunny? I like that” he gritted, pinning me more into the wall; I winced as his grip on my waist tightened.
“Leo, you’re hurting me” I cried out, tears pricking at my eyes.
“Oh bunny, don’t worry, I will soothe the pain,” he said with a mischievous smirk on his lips. He trailed his finger through my cleavage and down to my skirt. He raises my skirt and uses one of his raises to rub my kitty. He traveled between my legs and my body immediately reacted to his touch, it felt like my brain no longer had control over my legs as they were weak and felt like jelly.
Unable to do their job well of supporting me to stand, Leo rubs my kitty faster and a moan escapes my lips before I can stop it.
“Such a slut” he sneered, releasing me. I felt heat rise in my cheeks as I blushed in embarrassment. The word which he had called me hurt every part of me. I just stood staring at him like a lost child as he raked his eyes on me. With a cold glare, he turned his back on me, saying a word that sent chills down my spine, that made me wish this day never came.
“See you at school Bunny”
CHAPTER TWO.
“See you at school, bunny”
Those words sent chills down my spine as I watched him get smaller and smaller into the night, probably going back home to have a nice sleep.
It felt like my whole world had gone dark the moment he came into my life.
All I wanted to do was have a good night's rest after returning from the restaurant, but my dreams would probably be haunted by memories of him and the way he bullied me in school.
The tears at the corners of my eyes pricked harder wishing to be let out, my body felt weak, as I ran home with tears threatening to fall at any time, my house was just two blocks away and I clutched my bag to my chest, my heart heavy as I felt like I was about to choke.
I finally reached home, unlocking the door and quickly locking it, I ran to my room, plopping down on my bed. I finally let out the dam threatening to overflow.
“Why me!” I yelled out into my bed, which came off as a muffled sound.
I still couldn’t understand why he decided to come back and, to top it off, he enrolled in the same school I go to.
Springfield high school.
He probably came back to finish off what he started. I mean why else would he come back here and also enroll in the same school I go to to top it all off again, he tried to desecrate me.
Whatever he tried to do was never going to happen again. I wouldn’t let him take away my first time, the most precious thing I kept for my mate.
“No” I muttered as I wiped the tears that fell from my eyes. I stared up at the ceiling, flashes of Leo bullying me and his taunting voice haunting my eyes and ears.
Soon my eyelids drooped and I finally fell asleep at 2 in the morning.
___
“Hey girl!” Debbie yelled, waving at me excitedly the moment I walked through the gates of the high spring field, I smiled softly, moving to where she stood.
“What took you so long? I have been waiting for you for like two hundred years, my life and time wasted” Debbie grumbled, hooking her hands with mine.
“Yeah there goes my best friend,” I said, laughing slightly.
“So tell me what took you so long?” she asked as we walked through the hallway.
“Well, I was thinking of ditching school,” I said with a tight smile.
“Huh,” Debbie said gasping loudly.
“Who are you and what have you done to my nerdy best friend? She would never think of ditching school” she said, hitting my arm.
I laughed loudly as I thought of how I wanted to ditch school but dropped the idea due to my grades, I was a nerd.
“I’m still Angela the sexy nerd,” I said, flipping my hair. Debbie burst into a fit of laughter with tears falling out of her right eye.
“You are something else,” she said, chuckling.
“Uhh angel, why do you have bags under your eyes? Don’t sleep well?” Debbie asked, concerned. I was hoping nobody would notice it.
“Yeah, is it that noticeable?” I asked, concerned.
“Not really. Oh well, did you hear the news?” Debbie said excitedly.
“What new?” I asked with raised eyebrows.
“You know Leo Miller has transferred back to our school after two freaking years” she squealed out excitedly.
“Keep it down Debbie,” I said as my head turned to look at a squealing Debbie.
“Well, someone is grumpy this morning,” she said with a frown.
“Why didn’t you get enough sleep baby girl, up again reading? trash book” Debbie grumbled with a glare.
“Probably,” I said with a cheeky smile. I couldn’t tell her the main reason why I didn’t sleep. I didn’t want to bother her with my life problems.
“Ughh seriously Angela, seriously,” she asked in disbelief.
“Yeah”
“C’mon Angela, you need to loosen up a bit. I mean look at you, your skin isn’t glowing, you look sick Angela, you are gonna die if you miss a day of not reading, I mean look at me, I’m breathing perfectly well” she said, glaring at me.
“Okay Debbie, I’ll consider your advice,” I said, with a soft smile.
“Promise,” she said with a sly smile.
“Promise,” I said with a soft smile.
“Pinky Promise, “she said, bringing out her pinky finger. I rolled my eyes, sighing heavily.
“You are such a baby” I taunted, nudging her with a playful glare. She nudged my arm with her pinky finger pouting her lips.
“Pinky promised,” I said, and hooked her finger.
“I hope you do. I should get to class. Take care, love you” she said, hugging me as she left for her class. I trailed to my locker. Different thoughts ran through my head as the thought of. I and Leo in the same environment sent chills down my spine. I reached my locker and put it in the pin. Opening it, I took a few books that were for the first periods I had before lunch and placed them into my bag. Sitting at my locker, I rested my head on it, resting softly, closing my eyes a bit.
A soft tap on my back had me startled as I stood straight to stare at the person who had interrupted my short nap.
“Hey Angela, how was your night? Hope you slept well”, Leo said, smiling slyly.
A deep blush crept into my face at his care which immediately switched into anger as I remembered all he did last night. Anger boiled deeply in my heart as I stared at the sly smile he plastered on his face. He looked fresh, he probably had a dreamless night after taking mine away. He dared to ask me if I slept well.
I couldn’t withhold my anger and the next thing I knew I slapped him hard on his cheeks...
CHAPTER THREE.
The whole hallway went quiet the moment the slap echoed through the hall, their heads turning towards us, eyes wide in surprise. At first. I was glad I had finally put him in his place, but the moment I gained attention from the passing students, I regretted it instantly. It was all his fault, and I knew he didn’t expect me to challenge him, as a shock was written all over him, which he quickly masked with hatred and anger. I retracted my folding it in shock, panicking slightly. His eyes held promises of what he had installed for me as he stared at me deeply. I quickly averted my gaze by staring everywhere but him, my lips quivering as I fidgeted with my hands.
He stepped closer to me and I immediately took a step back, which he stopped by holding my hand. Bending down to my ear, he whispered four words that sent my body into lock mode.
“This is not over.”
____
I trailed down the hallway, my eyes searching for a possible threat that might come my way. Throughout my first period of the day, I didn’t see or see Leo, which I was glad about. I wasn’t ready for him and his taunting ways. It was lunchtime now and, for me, I hadn’t had him.
I walked back to my locker to drop my books to see Debbie, Gene, and Claire waiting for me.
“There she is what took you so long again,” Debbie said, hugging me as well as Gene and Claire. They were my only friends and we were happy with it. We didn’t want a large company, so we kept ourselves small though they probably had other friends.
We all walked to the cafeteria and had our lunch, getting a table. We sat down and they started talking about their weekends. I zoned out of most of their conversations, only picking up bits of them.
“So Debbie, told us how your weekend was?” Claire asked, catching my attention; Debbie always had a very adventurous weekend with the boys.
“Well, I went to a party downtown,” she said, giggling.
“As always Debbie,” I said, rolling my eyes.
“Shut up Angela” she grumbled, glaring at me playfully.
“Okay ma’am continue”
“Well, as I was saying before, I was rudely interrupted,” she said, glaring at me. I raised my hands in mock surrender, laughing softly.
“I met this guy in the club, he was sitting all alone actually with a glass of vodka, he had this dark aura around him that gave those bad boys a vibe and you know, I love bad boys”, she said, wiggling her eyebrows.
We all yelled out ‘Ewww’, scrunching our noses in disgust.
“Oh please don’t be a child, bad boys are the best,” she said, chuckling.
“So well I walked up to him and sat beside him, I gave him my best flirtatious smile, which could make a guy jerk in his pants,” she said, laughing.
“Well, sadly, that didn’t work for me. As he looked at me with disgust, he f*****g left me. The rejection hurts” she said, her smile dropping as it was replaced with a frown. We all burst out laughing at the outcome of her story. None of us saw that coming. The dude must have had some guts to reject Debbie as she had all the looks, and the curve, she was perfection.
I laughed heartily; Debbie could be crazy at times. “What about you Gene, how was your weekend?” Debbie asked.
“Well, my cousin's sister visited and we had some girl's time. She visited me about how caring and loving her mate was.”
“So have they done the... You know what?” Debbie asked.
“What?” Gene asked lost.
“Have they done the deed you dumbass”, Debbie said, giving her a playful glare.
“OH no, they haven’t. She said she wasn’t ready yet, and by point of correction, I’m no dumbass”, Gene said with a glare.
We all chuckled heartily at her warning, Debbie laughing harder than I and Claire.
“You know my first time wasn’t that painful, I was just filled with so much euphoria and s*x, drive that I didn’t even notice the pain, just a wince though,” Debbie said with a smile.
“Yeah yeah we know,” Gene said, rolling his eyes.
“Don’t worry, when you all get your mates I will give you s*x tips” Debbie said, wiggling her eyebrows.
“No, we are never listening to s*x tips from you” Gene exclaimed.
“We? I guess you are saying you and Angela because I so need those tips”
We all burst into another fit of laughter, holding our stomachs.
I laughed heartily, my eyes suddenly trailed over to the cafeteria to meet Leo, who was already staring at me. Chills immediately ran down my spine as his words echoed in my head. My smile dropped instantly as I slowly began to panic, fidgeting with my hands. I looked away from him and back to my smiling friends, hoping he would look away, but his gaze was still on me. I felt my body begin to heat up under his gaze as I felt uncomfortable shifting in my seat.
“So tell us, Angela, how was your weekend”, Gene asked with a soft smile.
“Uhh, my weekend was great actually. I went to a fancy restaurant and had dinner”, I said, with a tight smile.
“Wow,” Claire said with wide eyes.
“Yeah,” I said. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw Leo standing up from his seat and heading toward us. All the color drained from my face as he approached us.
Leo walked to our table and stood right in front of me with a mocking glare and an evil glint in his eyes.
“Gosh look at the way you eat, like a pig” he sneered.
Everyone in the cafeteria burst into laughter except for Gene, Debbie, and Claire.
“You are already as fat as an oaf and yet you still eat this,” he said, picking up my sandwich and throwing it on the floor.
“You won’t be needing that,” he said with a smirk.
Immediately, Gene snapped, “What the hell do you think you are doing?”
CHAPTER FOUR.
“What the hell do you think you are doing?” Gene snapped.
“Wow, another nerd”, Leo muttered, rolling his eyes. I boiled in anger as I stood up from my chair, pushing Gene back by the shoulder. Gene couldn’t fight Leo even if she tried. He was way stronger and more muscular than her and, to top it off, he came from a strong wolf bloodline. He was stronger than us, and no one could deny it.
“You know if you wanted a sandwich that you could have just asked for or better still go buy yourself some”, Debbie said, glaring at him.
“Oh please, why would I want that? I was just saving the ugly nerd from getting fatter than she already is. She should be thanking me even.”
“But if she wants to have it that bad, she can go ahead,” he said, picking up my carton of milk and pouring it over my head.
Leo was getting me mad. My hair was soaked with milk which now stuck to my skin, I was starting to feel irritated. I was so focused on myself that I didn’t notice when Gene punched Leo square in joy until the loud gasps that erupted in the cafeteria made me look in their direction.
Gene stood in front of a very angry Leo as he stared at her with so much hate and anger, his eyes twitching as he gritted his teeth, but obviously, Gene didn’t notice his anger.
“You are such a bully. What makes you think you can just waltz in here and treat my friend like a trick-” Gene is cut short by a painful slap, followed by a punch to her jaw. Leo holds her tight by her neck, punching her again, gene is unable to fight back as Leo is stronger than her, I quickly rush to them, pulling at his hands.
“Leo please stop” I cried out as blood spilled out of Gene’s mouth, Claire and Debbie looked terrified as they stared at Gene.
Leo doesn’t listen to my pleas as he keeps beating Gene.
“Leo stop! Please stop” I begged, as Gene slowly started to lose consciousness. Leo finally let go of her, he straightened his shirt as he backed off, Gene lay on the floor limp, and tears streamed down my face as I knelt beside her. Then, Debbie and Claire quickly. The rush to assist me to carry her up, the whole student in the Café watched us as we carried Gene to the nurse.
“Don’t worry Gene, you’ll be alright” I said, patting her head as I led her to the infirmary. This was all my fault. If only she hadn’t stood up for me, Leo would never have beaten her. I’m just bad luck to all of them.
The nurse quickly rushes to Gene on seeing her and places her on the bed, and starts treating her.
“What the hell happened to her?” she questioned, her face filled with anger.
“Leo Miller happened” Claire seethed.
“What did he do?” she asked with raised eyebrows.
“He tried to bully my friend here, Angela and even poured her milk. Gene only tried to fight for her and he made her his punching bag without even remorse” Debbie gritted out in anger, while I stood staring at Gene with teary eyes. Leo would pay if anything happened to her.
The nurse only hummed in reply, walking off. A few minutes after she returned, the intercom switched on, and Leo’s name was called to the main office.
Just great, note the sarcasm.
“I’ll be back,” I said with a tight smile.
“Take care”
“Be careful” they both said, which I hummed in reply.
I arrived at the principal's office to see Leo already seated in one of the office chairs.
“Took you long enough,” the principal said with a stern look.
“Take a seat” he ordered. I sat down quietly next to Leo, not sparing him a glance, and I did not look at the principal either, as I just stared behind him, not ready to see the injustice that was ready to take place.
“What happened, Angela?” he asked.
“Sir, I know you already know the full story as the nurse had probably told you everything, so why ask me?” I gritted, folding my hand into fists.
“Angela! Is that how you speak?” he said, his voice rising.
“Sir, I’m only speaking my mind.”
“You are being rude, girl,” he seethed, glaring at me.
“Whatever you say, sir Sir.”
“And look at me while talking to you” he shouted. It took longer than expected before I stared into his eyes. He was furious as I watched him grit his teeth in anger.
“What happened, Angela?” he gritted out.
“Well, Leo here found it his pleasure to bully me, telling me how fat I am and how I shouldn’t eat a sandwich which he threw on the floor. Might I add, he also dumped a carton of milk on me. My hair was still sticky from milk as I hadn’t washed it off yet. Gene is my friend and she tried to intervene as every normal friend would and Leo took it upon himself to beat her to death”, I seethed, turning to look at Leo. I gave him a cold glare and all he did was a smirk, no remorse in his eyes.
He was a bastard.
“Well, Leo wasn’t wrong in what he said, you are fat,” the principal said, making me turn to look at him with a glare. I knew he would take sides. After all, Leo’s dad was the school board chairman.
“Sir, bullying and verbal abuse is a crime and is punishable by law” I seethed.
“ Do not quote law. For me Angela. You have detention now. Get out of my office you spoiled brat” he yelled out, angrily banging on his table.
Great, just great. I had detention all because of Leo and it was only on his first day.
CHAPTER FIVE.
I walked out of the principal's office fuming with anger.
Of course, he would take Leo’s side. After all, his dad was one of the strongest bloodlines and also a board member of the school. The injustice in the werewolf realm was slowly pissing me off.
I trailed back to the infirmary in I hope of seeing Gene, but she was no longer there likewise Debbie and Claire, I panicked and immediately rushed to the nurse's office.
“Where is Gene?” I asked, my eyes wide.
“Calm down miss, Gene was sent back home to heal properly, and Debbie and Claire went home with her,” she said with a small smile. I heaved a sigh of relief, realizing a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.
“Okay, I should be going,” I said, and walked out of the infirmary to my next class, as I couldn’t ditch school due to my f*****g detention.
____
The shrilling sound of the school bell ringing for dismissal startled me as I shot up from my seat running my hands through my hair; I had fallen asleep in history class.
Just great.
Everyone walked out of the class excited about leaving this hellhole of a school. I quietly packed my bags and walked out of class to my detention class.
“Good evening sir”, I greeted him, as I took a seat in the far corner of the class. I had detention with Sir Adams, our physics teacher. He was very strict and always spoke in the calculation, always sarcastic, he never answered a question without involving physics or being sarcastic and it was annoying. It made me wonder if he was more human than a wolf.
He doesn’t even respond to my greeting as he stares into his book.
“Ass,” I muttered.
I rest my head on the desk and continue my nap hoping to sleep away all my worries.
I was woken up by a harsh tap on my shoulder.
“Hey girl Mrs. Evelyn called you to her office so get moving,” he said, glaring down at me. My vision blurred a little as I was sleepy.
“Huh??” I said, trying to rest my head back on the chair.
“I said Mrs. Evelyn wants to see you” he shouts, shaking me hard. Sleep immediately leaves my eyes as I glare at him; I hate it when I am forced to wake up.
“Get out of my class girl” he shouts, walking to his seat. I rolled my eyes at him in response, ambling out of his class to Mrs. Evelyn's office was quiet, the school halls were eerily quiet as no one except a few teachers were around. Many thoughts ran through my head as I fiddled with my hands, wondering why Mrs. Evelyn would summon me to her office.
I hope it’s not about the biology test we took earlier today. I was so paranoid about everything that happened yesterday that I wrote trash in almost all the answers. I felt like my soul was in a different body while writing the test.
I knocked softly on her door after much thought.
“Come in,” she said.
I turned the doorknob slowly, opening it. I stepped in with a tight smile on my face. I walked up to her table and stared down at her.
“Good evening ma’am you sent for me,” I said softly.
“Oh yes Angela, take a seat,” she said, pushing the script she placed on her table aside.
I sat down extremely slowly on the chair with a nervous smile on my face, and I knew she could smell my nervousness as she smiled sweetly at me trying to comfort me, which was not helping.
“Angela, don’t be, I just have something to ask,” she said in a soft voice.
“Yes ma’am, ask aw...ay,” I said, stuttering at the end.
“Well, I was marking the test you took today, and well, your marks were really poor.”
“What happened? Angela.
