13 CHRISTOPHER I didn’t recall ever being so—for lack of a better word—giddy. This wasn’t exactly a feeling I was used to. Eight o’clock came around, and I left my room to meet Emma in the lobby as we’d planned. My heart raced with each step I took. I’m really doing this! Or was I? This dinner could be orchestrated any way I wanted it. I could set the tone of a friendly meal with my friend’s daughter. Or I could make it a boss/employee kind of thing.
