Summer

Chapter 12

Gabriel POV

As I walked into my parent’s home I had a plan, have a word to my sister for her big mouth, telling her friend about us being shifters, sit down and eat moms amazing breakfast, then catch up with Katie’s life.

That was the plan until I smelt it, the most amazing, delicious scent I have ever smelt in my life, peaches and cream. The wolf in me stirred, he was clawing to break out and find who this scent belonged too.  I rushed into my parent’s home only to stop dead in my tracks; she was the most beautiful woman I ever laid eyes on and I have seen my fair share of woman.  My wolf wanted to howl with excitement and I heard it in my head MATE!  I sucked in a deep breath, it couldn’t be! I’m too young to settle down with my mate yet, I don’t want to be tied down to just one woman for the rest of my life.  I love the girls too much to settle down now.  f**k!! Why did she have to show up now?  I must have said that out load because my parents and sister were all staring at me with a confused look on their faces.

Shit I need to sort my s**t out and act normal.  “Good morning all” I greeted ever one with a smile plaster on my face, not that I was in a very happy mood anymore. Everyone replied their good mornings except my sister who came running towards me and throw herself into my arms.  I and hugged her tightly to me and laughed “God Katie, how come it has taken us 15 years to be able to do this again?”  She was crying and wouldn’t release me from her embrace

“Oh Gab, I’ve missed you” she sobbed and was wetting my shirt, not that I cared.  It had been too long scene I have seen her.  I pulled her away from me so I could get a good look at her

“God Katie, look at you, you are all grown up into a beautiful woman.”  She grinned and hugs me again.  It wasn’t until dad told us to ‘break it up, come and sit down to eat’ that I released.  I gave mum a kiss on the cheek and slapped dad on the back, then Katie introduced her.

“Gab this is Summer, my best friend.” Our eyes locked, we were staring each other dead in the eye, her eyes were dark brown with flecks of gold and they were staring straight into mine like she could see my soul.  I offered my hand in greetings, when she placed her hand in mine, it was like electricity shot straight into my hand and up my arm.  I noticed her eyes grow, so she felt it too. Summer tried to pull her hand out of my grasped but I hung on. 

It wasn’t until I heard my father clear his throat that I realized what I was doing and released her hand and sat in my seat.  I could feel my dad’s eyes staring at my but I didn’t want to see his questioning face so I sat and ate my breakfast while catching up on everything with Katie.

 She filled me in on everything to do with her and Summer like, going to school, that’s where she met Summer, their jobs that they love, where they live, which was great.  We had so much we needed to catch up on. 

The conversation died down a bit while we were all eating until mom broke the silence

“How are you feeling dear?”  Mom asked Summer. 

“Good considering” Summer said with a loud sigh.  This got my attention.

“That is understandable considering how he popped up out of the blues at work.  That must have scared you?”  Asked mom.

Scared her, who scared her? I didn’t realize I spoke those words out load until I notice ever one looking at me.

Katie answered “This guy Jason.  Summer went on one date with him” I wanted to growl when she said that but I managed to hold it in while she continued.  “Now he is being a bit of a stalker.  He showed his face at work yesterday and he hasn’t stopped with the calling and texting.” 

I was staring at Summer with a frown on my face.  I could feel my anger rising and I knew I had to get out of there before I did something stupid, so I did the only thing I could.  I grunted in response got out of my seat “I got to head off, I have a lot to do today” pushed my chair in, gave mum a kiss good bye, nodded to my dad and walked out. 

But before I managed to escape I head my dad “Son!”  I stopped, looked over my shoulder at my dad.  He had a questioning look on his face like he knew something was wrong with me, I needed to hurry up and get out of there before he tried to corner me and bombard me with question.

“Yeah.”  “Don’t forget about dinner tonight with the Dark Moon Pack. I want you here early.”  “I’ll be here” At that I turned and left. 

Once I was outside I inhaled a deep breath and exhaled.  I had to get that intoxicating scent out so I can think.  It was driving me crazy.  I wanted to turn around, walk back in there, grab her, drag her back to my house, f**k her brains out and mark her so everyone will know she is mine.
