Chapter Twelve

"Wake your a*s up, I thought you had to work today," Mason said to Dani over the Facetime call. She smiled seeing him. Today was Thanksgiving and she was home alone.

"I called off I wasn't feeling good when I woke up this morning." She said grabbing her coffee off her nightstand. It like somethings she drinks every day now. She had to go buy her like three bags to get her through the week. She was addicted to it.

"Aw, what's wrong with my baby today, mad that I can't be there with you hold on," Mason said putting Dani on hold. She said up and turn her tv on. When the Ft resume there was a Lil girl sitting with Mason. "Say hey to Dani Nel."

"Hey, Dani,"  Chanel said waving at her. Dani smiled and waved back.

"That's your sister's daughter right?" Dani asked just to make sure again. She was sleep last time they talked and heard a Lil of what Mason was telling her about his family. She wasn't about to him that tho.

"Yea, she's my Lil princess she coming back with me, ain't that right Chanel?" Mason asked looking at her. Chanel smiled and hugged her uncle.

"Aw!" Dani said. Her door open and her brother walked in.

"What you still doing in bed Dani, I texted you two hours ago telling you to get ready," Devon said folding his arms. Dani looked at him confused.

"I didn't get a text, hold on Mason." She said putting Mason on hold. She got up and looked at him.

"Come get ready tell Mason you'll call him back, I know you don't want to sit in the house by yourself," Devon said looking at him.

"Out get out, I'll be down in an hour," Dani said pushing him out her room. She shut her door and grabbed her phone. She took Mason off hold and saw him eating. She shook her head. "I'm going have to call you back, or you call me back but give it two hours,"  Dani said smiling.

"Alright baby," Mason said smiling. They hung up and Dani put her phone on the charger. She walked to her closet and turn the light on. She looked around and sigh. She didn't want to go through all this today. She grabbed some tights and a printed skater dress.

"Where Nia, thought you were spending Thanksgiving with her and her family," Dani said as her and her brother rode somewhere. LShe had texted Dashona and told her it was ok she could stay at Hanna's house.

"She where we going, put your headphones in, and shh, don't talk just enjoy this ride ok?" Devon asked as he stops at a red light and looked at her. Dani rolled her eyes and put her beats headphones on. It's always something with them now. Dani thought as she went to her music.

Devon looked at Dani and smiled a Lil bit. His dad was always up to something he didn't know what it was until this morning when he called and told him about it. He can't tell Dani, he just hopes she doesn't flip out on their dad tho.

"Where are we?" Dani asked as she and Devon walked into this house. Dani looked around and saw it looked like a really old house.

"Come on just let's enjoy this day," Devon said walking into the living room where everyone was. 

"Daddy!?" Dani asked excitedly. He got up and hugged him. "All y'all some lair, I'm glad I called off today," Dani said smiling at Hanna and Dashona.

"If you didn't Lee was going to call and tell you not to come in, but baby girl I have someone important for you to meet," Julian said looking at his fiancée. She stood up and smiled at Dani. Dani smiled at her. Who is this lady? Dani thought as she just kept a smile on her face.

"Who this woman?" Dani asked confused. She was still smiling tho.  Julian hugged Grace and smiled at Dani.

"This is Grace, my fiancée," Julian said a Lil scared of Dani's reaction.

"Grab her," Dashona said getting up. Dani looked at her  Dashona shut up and start playing on her phone.

"Your what? you getting marry?" Dani asked confused.

"Yes me and Grace been dating for about 6 years now and we finally decided to tie the knot, you're happy right?" Julian asked Dani. Before Dani could say somethings she had the urge to throw up.

"Bathroom?" She asked. Julian grabbed her and took her to the bathroom. Dani shut and locked the door and threw up whatever was in her stomach. When she was done she got up and flush the toilet. She looked in the mirror and sigh. She washes her mouth out and grabbed a peppermint out her purse. She walked out of the bathroom and back to the living room. "I'm happy daddy, for you," Dani said smiling and sitting down.

Dashona looked at her and lean toward her.

You good that's the second time I have seen you throw up?" Dashona asked in Dani's ear. Dani nodded her head.

"I'm glad you are, now we can leave and go to Mrs. Jones's house before she comes to call me," Julian said getting up. Everyone else got up and Dani felt so sick. Maybe she needs to cut back on her coffee.

"Why you didn't warn me before I walked in that house?" Dani asked Devon as they sat in the living room at their house. Their dad was back at that other house. Nia was sleep and Dashona went back to Hanna's house.

"Because he wanted to tell you himself, wassup with you, you feeling ok?"  Devon asked as he ate his pecan pie and ice cream. Dani looked at him.

"Yea I'm fine, it probably too much coffee," Dani said smiling. Mason hasn't called or texted her. She hopes everything ok.

"Mason you can't leave again," Chloe said to Mason as he packed his clothes back in his bag.

"Chloe I didn't leave the last time, this sent me away to protect their reputation, did you see how she was acting like I'm just nothing, yes I'm still running the streets in Atlanta but I go to school and help my grandma, they just act like I'm a bad seed, it was going good until she brought up my lifestyle," Mason said as he grabbed his bag. Chloe grabbed him.

"Mason you can't keep letting them get to you,  listen you leave now and that going tell them right there that you will forever be a punk you will never try to become anything," Chloe said looking at him. Mason sigh.

"I don't want to keep hearing them talk down on me, I'm their son and they look at me like I'm just some random they pick up off the streets," Mason said annoy. His parents were very judgmental people. He came up here thinking they would accept him as their own but they still being funny. He was sick of all that. He just wanted his parents another side. The side that they not judging someone.

"Mason that's just them, you and I know how they can get, just please stay for me, Chanel and your grandma, just come on this the first time I have seen you in five years, you're my Lil brother and I love you," Chloe said hugging him. Mason smiled.

"I love you too, I'm going stay I guess I'm going have to put up with their talking," Mason said laughing a Lil.

"You know how they can get it to come every once and a while, they not going talk about it tomorrow," Chloe said smiling.

"Let's hope you right."
