"Come on Dani, woke up for me." Dani dad Julian said shaking his daughter lightly. Dani rolled over and looked at the time on her alarm clock. She sat up and looked at her dad dressed for work. "You leaving already?" Dani asked a lil disappointed. Her father usually drive her to school. She didn't like riding the school bus or even walking. "Yes baby girl, you have your keys and everything else, I'll be picking you up after school so be ready." Julian said kissing his daughter forehead. "Love you." "Love you to daddy." Dani said getting up. She walked out her room and to the bathroom. Her and her father lived in a two bedroom apartment. They didn't have much but they had some. They was just in the apartment temporary. Their house was getting remodeled. Somethings her grandfather wanted to do for so long. Once Dani was done with her morning routine she was back in her room putting on her clothes. It wasn't much especially since she go to a uniform coded school. "Dannnny!" Dani heard from outside her window. She looked out the window and saw her best friend Dashona. Dani shook her head and grabbed her purse, phone and keys. She walked out her room and downstairs. She open the door and walked out of it. She locked it back up and looked at Dashona. "What you doing over here?" Dani asked as they start walking. "I have my mom car." Dashona said as the reach her mom 2011 Dodge Charger. Dani smiled. Yes she didn't have to catch the school bus. "You're a life saver." "The sweetest one you're ever know." Dashona said as they got in the car. Dashona started it and pulled off. "Where your dad?" Dashona asked as she stopped at a stop sign. "Work like always, he been pulling over time why I don't know." Dani said checking her social media. Her dad was a engineer, Dani think he did something else on the side tho. He had money just didn't want Dani to know. "He trying to get that money girl, I know you tired of living in That apartment." Dashona said pulling up at the school. She parked in the student parking lot and her and Dani sat for a minute. "Yes I'm tired of living in that damn apartment, I miss my own bathroom." Dani said eating a butterscotch she found in her purse. Dashona was texting her girlfriend. "I bet you do, Tell me why Hanna a*s not even here, I could really slap the gay out of her." Dashona said getting out the car. Dani did to. They saw everyone standing in front of the school. Like seriously why they can't stand in the halls why outside Dani thought. They walked in the school and went to their locker. "You know you crazy, why she not coming to school?" Dani asked as she grabbed her books out her locker. "Some about her stomach, she get on my nerves sometimes, just so damn ugh!" Dashona said slamming her locker shut. Dani laughed at how dramatic she was being. "You'll see her later, who is that?" Dani asked looking at some tall cute boy. His smile brighten up the whole room. He just gave Dani a good vibe. "That's Mason Collins, the new kid, they say he a big time d**g dealer." Dashona said looking at him. "He a hottest, but he wouldn't want my big ass." Dani said walking off. Dashona shook her head and follow her best friend. "Don't be like that Dani, everyone is different, he might not like them sticks, he might just like his women with meat, you gotta stop." Dashona said as they walked in their first period class. Dani just stay quiet. She was listening but didn't really care about what she was talking. She knew she was big but at time she knew no one will even give her the time of day because she was the big girl. She was fat and disgusting. She smiled and ran to him. "What you doing in town and where is daddy he was supposed to come get me." Dani said as he open the door for her. She got in and Devon her brother went to the driver side. "Yea I could eat, why you in town, don't you have school?" Dani asked locking her phone. "Yea, I transfer tho, you happy to see me right?" Devon asked as he headed to Ruby Tuesday. "You know I'm always happy to see you, you going be staying in that small apartment with us?" Dani asked as she took pictures of him. Devon asked. Him and his sister always been close. "You so right about that he either at work or not at home, I think he doing something else on the side other then being a engineer." Dani said getting out the car. Devon looked at his sister. He knew what his dad did on the side but he wasn't about to let Dani know. She fragile and wouldn't know how to take that her dad is a killer. "Don't you worry, everything going be okay, he'll come back around, now let's eat and catch up." Devon said wrapping his arms around Dani shoulders. She smiled and they walked in Ruby Tuesday.
