**START OF THE TOURNAMENT (1)**

Roshan walked to his normal hunting ground, he needed to get more stats, he needed to get a lot of money for the old man as he wasn’t going to be around anymore if he finally enters the military school.

What if he wasn’t actually there to help with the poison, where would the old man get the money, he sighed as he kept walking

All these burdens made him feel like an old man too

He still had the Arachion’s gem which he planned on using to upgrade his gauntlets. He could still absorb energy from the beasts he hunted to gain more stats and he would sell the gems too.

The main solution to his problems was just to hunt.

He walked deeper into the forest, the vines and branches grew thicker till he came across a large sandy area.

He stopped as he looked over the area. His ears picked up slight movements.

“Something’s coming” he thought as he readied himself for a battle, almost immediately a beast jumped out from under the ground baring out its fangs. It looked like a giant worm with layers of teeth around its mouth. It had no limbs but many layers of skin.

It would be able to eat a whole human slowly grinding it down its stomach.

“Crystal Iris” Roshan said as a bright light shone around his hands as a pair of gauntlets appeared around his hands. He was ready for battle.

With the increased level of the crystal Iris, he was capable of seeing even the weakness of his opponent.

He scanned the field looking for a way to actually target his opponent.

“Damn, I could really use a sword right now, at least it would be easier to cut open their stomach” he exhaled as he tried looking for a perfect opening.

A worm jumped from under the sand with its mouth hole wide open heading straight for his head. He dodged the attack by bending low.

As the beast flew over his head, Roshan’s fist made its way into the stomach of the beast right to the other side.

With a fling of his arm the beast flew to another side

“It’s probably because I’m stronger that the beast doesn’t do anything to my exp or add anything benefits. Well at least I can get more gems for sale. He thought as he glanced at the bumps that were appearing on the floor below him.

The beasts shot out of these visible bumps aiming straight for his head but Roshan easily evaded the attack killing each beast one by one.

Few minutes later

“I think this is enough” he said as he looked at the scene around him. The sand was covered in black sticky blood.

“Damn… I think I overdid it” he said as he scanned the area. He shrugged and turned to leave when a terrifying aura was felt. Cold chills ran down his spine as he was locked on with a killing intent.

‘Not good…… King tier beast’

Roshan’s expression became solemn immediately

He had actually brought it upon himself killing so many beasts.

One should know that a King tier beast was at least Level 30.

Now he was in deep trouble, one should remember that Roshan was just at Level 15, even though he displayed high level strength and attributes, he was still a mere ant compared to the giants of the world.

Immediately he felt the energy in his legs as he ran forward.

This skill lasted for exactly ten minutes and at that time, he was incredibly far away from that aura.

At the place where Roshan had been, A huge Sand worm popped up his head as it scanned the area in confusion, it had felt an aura here but it saw noone. Coincidentally it looked around only to find pieces of its subjects and the blood of his species spilled around.

It roared madly in anger.

Roshan was walking ahead following the trail of a beast when he heard a faint roar, he slightly shuddered

“It’s good I escaped. I could have been canned worm food”

With his gauntlets on, he traced the beast into another area

Roshan inhaled as he looked at the wolf and a smile was seen on his face.

This wolf’s energy would get him a fire ability. He smiled as he unconsciously rubbed his palms together.

Roshan made himself known by jumping in front of the wolf.

The beast was startled before it regained its calm and steadied his ground.

It opened its mouth and a ball of fire shot directly in front of Roshan’s face.

If he had delayed for a minute, he would have been roasted on the spot. Roshan thought as he quickly moved to the side

His eyes landed on the wolf as an expression of excitement was seen on his face.

The wolf instinctively took some steps back as it looked at its opponent in confusion.

It couldn’t feel a tinge of fear but it felt something worse. It felt like it was just a cornered rat in front of this opponent but it immediately regained its posture as it charged at Roshan again.

Seeing this, Roshan smiled and jumped on its back

The wolf started to sway, it didn’t know why it felt suddenly weak

Immediately Roshan saw the last notification, he jumped down from the beast and gave it a punch. It was already so weakened and it couldn’t even muster the strength to defend.

It flew immediately and crashed straight into a few trees before landing on the floor. No aura could be felt from it.

Roshan smiled as he looked at his hand, a fiery ball the size of a football was moving on his hand.

He flicked his hand and the ball landed on the body of the wolf turning it to ashes.

“Oppps....what a mistake” He groaned as he slapped his forehead. He had not even collected the gem. He was about to slap his head again when he heard a familiar ding

“I love you..” He smiled as he read the notification.

He walked deeper into the forest but his legs stopped as his ears picked up a small howl.

Following the sound, he came into a tiny cave.

Walking inside carefully, he saw a tiny beast. It was exactly like the beast he just killed.

“Damn, I made a person an orphan” He muttered as he moved closer to the wolf

Roshan stared at the puppy in bewilderment.

It had an unknown ability meaning its ability wasn’t known yet but from its name, Roshan could guess that its ability included the known elements of most abilities maybe all.

This tiny thing was at Level 5.

Hunger??

What do these things eat?

He thought but he immediately remembered

With a flash of light, a level 10 beast gem appeared in his hands. This was a beast he casually killed when he was bored before stumbling on the Frie Wolf beast.

He moved closer to the beast.

The beast looked at the intruder and growled loudly at it until a familiar scent entered its nose. It looked down at the hands of the intruder and quickly noticed what was bringing the smell.

In an instant, it flashed and snatched the thing from the hand and immediately gobbled it. A satisfied expression was shown on its face.

It wanted more as it looked down to see the hand empty. Nudging the hand with its nose, it looked at the intruder with begging eyes

Roshan frowned

“This thing…I thought it didn’t like me” Roshan flicked his hands as another gem appeared. It was one of the Level 13 gem. Immediately it appeared, it was eaten straight up not lasting a second.

This small pup put its paw on its stomach indicating it was full.

A notification read

“Hmmm? I can tame beasts”

He looked at the pup before sighing. This thing was a lot of responsibility but he was really curious about its strength

“Yes, I would like to tame the beast”

A flash of light covered the pup and it was nowhere to be seen

“Hmm? Where did it go”

A light bark was heard and Roshan checked the system.

Under a tab labelled “Beast Pets” A small wolf pup was seen running around a small space.

“Ohh, it’s in the system like those RPG games. I could summon and unsummom it but now isn’t the time. I need to get moving. It’s noon already” He said as he walked out of the cave and straight out the forest into the market
