Thunder crashed loudly as the wind threw the heavy rain against the locked windows. The weather had turned very chilly, but it was warm inside the room.
Kaliyah slowly undressed and stepped into the bathroom. She grabbed a towel and a robe, set them on the counter and stepped into the shower stall.
As she reached out to turn on the water, she felt her baby move. A surprised gasp escaped her and she ran her hand over her stomach, feeling the little kicks.
"A month from now, you'll be in my arms." She whispered. As if in response, her baby kicked again and for a few minutes, she stood there, eyes filled with awe, watching the little movements.
She didn't understand how she could love a child she hadn't even seen. Her heart swelled and she cradled her stomach with both hands.
