Kayin whimpered in my mind while my nerves were battling around inside of me as I impatiently awaited to hear back from my mom. I was so focused on our silent link, that I didn't even hear the conversation between Luke and my grandparents.
"Maeve?" Luke's low, monotone voice snapped me back to my grandparents' livingroom that we were sitting in.
I quickly stood up and walked over to my dad's parents. "Mom linked me, but I didn't hear anything back from her. I don't know what's going on, but I need to go," I explained as I gave the both of them a tight hug.
