Chapter 1
Lisa was born in a very small town called Lake Lily. In this town everyone knew everyone. Yes it was that small. When her parents arrived in the town of Lake Lily one night, her mother was already pregnant with her. They were looking for a place to stay the night and also the baby was on the way. During that night it was raining and they were really looking for shelter to hide from the rain. Devon and Laura have been travelling on the road on the foot for almost two days that is when they stumbled upon Lake Lily town. Devon saw an open barn that was open and they quickly dashed straight into that barn to hide from the rain. “Are you sure you are going to be okay. That wound won’t stop bleeding” asked Laura. She was so worried about Davon because his stab wound had reopened. “Let me heal you and stop the bleeding.” “You know we can’t do that as long as the baby is not born yet. We have to save your energy till you give birth.” Devon laid Laura on the ground that was covered with hay. He then started to look for something to make light in the barn they had entered. As he was looking for the something to light a small fire, Laura cried out in pain, it was the baby contraction. “I think the baby is coming Devon!” yelled Laura. Devon did not know what to do. He was just a solider and had zero experience about giving birth or anything to do with babies. He could not find anything to light the fire with then sudden by the entrance of the barn, light lit and there they was this couple standing. An old man was holding a shovel whilst the old lady was holding a lamp light and the old man was ready to attack the intrudes until he saw to their surprise it was a young couple who had entered into their barn. “Please we are not thieves. We need no trouble. My wife is pregnant” Devon begged the old man by the entrance not to attack him. He already lost a lot of blood and did not have the strength of fighting him either way. The best was to avoid confrontation at all by begging the old man not to fight with him. The old man saw that he was injured on the side of his stomach and the young lady on the ground was pregnant. Laura made a loud cry of pain because the contractions which took everyone’s attention and the old lady rushed over there to help her calm down. “How long has she been having contractions?” asked the old lady? “Seven hours at most now” The old lady handed over the lamp light to Devon and told him to sit down and hold the light. Then instructed his husband Samuel the old man to go get cloths in the house. She was now in charge of delivering the baby. All Devon can do was sit and watch was transpiring and hope that her wife would be okay. “Laura is your name, right?” asked the old lady “Yes” she replied in pain. “I am Mary so the baby is coming. I need you to be strong and push as hard as you can. Do you got it dear. I have delivered alot of babies for the people in town so you are in good hands ” Laura nodded. “Alright. I want you push on the counter of three. 1… 2… 3… Push” Laura made a loud cry as she pushed the baby. Laura repeated the process over and over until she pushed the baby out. As soon as the baby was out Samuel who had the cloths that he was told to get gave them to her wife Mary. He quickly walked over to the wife who was holding the baby that was born. Samuel handed over the cloths to her wife and the baby was wrapped around the cloths. The moment the baby was wrapped, Mary handed over the baby to Laura telling her that the baby was a girl and she was perfect. “Devon! It is a girl” as Laura smiled as she look over to where Devon was sitting. Devon’s head was tilted down and was not responding and his hand was still holding the lamp. Laura called out his name again but no movement happen. Devon still did not respond. Old man Samuel rushed over to Devon and tried to shake him but Devon did not respond. Old man Samuel laid Devon the ground and tried to do CPR but it was already too late. Devon was gone. From the looks of it old man Samuel noticed that Devon had passed from the blood loss on the stubbed wound on the side of his stomach. Laura could not believe it. The love of her life was gone just like that and she did not even notice it. She could not even do anything to save her. Tears started to roll down her cheeks and then she started to crawl toward were Devon was laid by old man Samuel. It was a sad moment indeed. She could have saved him, healed him that moment when she noticed that his wound was open but Devon refused because he knew she needed to use the strength she had to bring their child to the land of the living. Laura grabbed Devon’s head and pressed it around her chest as she mourned in silent. Old man Samuel and Mary could not bare to see the sight of what was happening and they decided to leave Laura by herself to mourn his husband in peace. Laura just mourned in silent as tears rolled down her checks and the rain continued to fall down. The next day when the rain stopped, old man Samuel buried Laura’s husband Devon on their farm. Laura was told by Mary she can stay on their farm if she had nowhere to go and they could help her raise her child in the time being till she was capable to help herself. They were already old and they would not mind having someone young to help around the farm. Also on that day the name of the new born child was called Lisa. When she opened her eyes in from the Samuel and Mary they discovered she had blue eyes. Mary and Samuel had never seen a person with blue eyes so it really shocked them. So as time went on Laura and her child Lisa started to live on the farm in the small time called Lake Lily. It did not time for news to travel fast around Lake Lily that they were new people in the town of Lake Lily. Laura decided to open a shop where she started to sell medicinal herbs because she noticed that the people of Lake Lily had no doctor or at least someone who had knowledge about health in the town. Laura became well known she starred to help the people who were sick and the shop became really popular in the small town. A few years later Lisa was all grown up, however Lisa was different from the rest of the town folks, she always wonder why she was different from the rest of the people in town Lily from a very young age. Even though she knew she was different, the people of the town really loved her a lot because she was a kind loving girl to the people and people loved her for that. What made her different from the rest of the people was she was born with blue eyes. Her eyes were the blue of every dancing sky, infinite hues illuminated by newborn light. That is how beautiful her eyes were. Everyone was astonished in the town. They had never seen a person with blue eyes before. When her parents moved to Lake Lily they open a shop were they sold medicinal herbs that helped those who were sick? Growing up Lisa wanted to work in the shop like her mother and so she started to learn about medicine and herbs in order help the town as well from a very young age. At that time old man Samuel and Mary had passed and Laura was left with the farm as hers to keep. Samuel and Mary did not have any children of their own so living their farm to Laura and her daughter was the best decision they could have ever made. When other kids were playing outside she would be looking at plants and studying them. Other kids sometimes thought she was weird the way she loved plants and nature instead of playing with her. Sometimes they would bully her and called her names like a witch because of her eyes or a freak of nature because she was different. On that day one of the kids threw a rock at her and hit her in the forehead. This hurt her a lot that she cried and she would run back to her parents shop. Her mother found Lisa sitting by herself in the back, storage of the shop on that day crying. Lisa’s mum approached her and asked ‘why she was crying?’ When Lisa turned around to look at her mum, her mother saw the bruise on her forehead. And in shock asked “What happened? Who did this to you?” Lisa did not answer but just told her mother that she was a freak because she had blue eyes. She said she wasn’t normal like the rest of the kids and for that, that’s is why other kids really did not want to play with her or be around her. Hearing such words from Lisa hurt her mother a lot. “You are not a freak my love” said her Lisa mum. She then reached out her hand and placed it on Lisa’s forehead. Lisa asked what she was doing because did not understand what was going on. “I was hoping you were going to be able to do this by yourself one day but it seems you are a late bloomer.” Lisa’s mum hand started to glow and on her forehead and soon after the bruise on her forehead healed and was back to normal. Lisa felt the tingling of her forehead and soon after that tingling was gone. The scratch Lisa attained from the rock was gone. Lisa was surprise how she did that. How it was that possible and wanted to know if she could it herself one day. She went on to even ask more question trying understand. Laura placed two fingers in front of Lisa’s mouth to stop her from talking. She told her to keep this a secret only her now knew her mum’s secret but the rest of Lake Lily had no idea. Lisa’s mum promised her once her powers awake one day and on that that day her mother tell her everything about who she was. However Lisa saw her mother got sick and during that time Lisa was now 13 years of age. This worried her a lot and the rest of the people of Lake Lily. Her mother was now the town doctor, were people looked up to her if ever they got sick. Lisa tried to do the best she could from what she learned from her mother about herbs and medicine what nothing was working.
