The moment I placed my hand on Kallik’s and agreed to go with her, it felt like the entire world shifted. Everything around me seemed to speed up and then break into streaks of color, like a rainbow, until it all swirled into white. The white glowed brighter and brighter until I had to squeeze my eyes closed for the pain the bright white surroundings were causing. I could see the pink of the blood in my clenched eyelids and the brightness flashed, until, suddenly, everything was dark. My eyes flew open, and I quickly looked around. I was standing in a large room that felt vaguely familiar, like something I saw in a dream at some point.
