Chapter 16

The prince immediately carried his comrade, Starfire, into the tent. Her body was cold as a dead fish and her body had become white and limp. He laid her on the mat and sat by her side staring at her. A sigh escaped from his lips as he pictured what happened minutes ago, why did she jump?, it's almost like she wanted to get herself killed on purpose. Philip entered the tent carrying a small wooden bowl and yellow leaves in his hand. He started squeezing the leaves. The prince watched Philip as he skillfully extract the juice from the leaves. He was skilled in healing techniques. Surprisingly he learnt it from nowhere, he just happened to know it he had no idea how or why he knows. The Prince stepped out to sit beside the fire, he was already feeling cold. Of Course he's a halfling, it's only normal for his human side to act up. Frostlings never feel cold because they practically live in ice. He stared at the fire intensely, he silently hoped she'll be okay, although he has faith in the herb administered to her. "It won't last for long", the voice broke the silence The prince sigh unhappily, "did you identify the creature?", He asked "No, Infact, I've never come across something like that before", he paused, As he wanted to apply the juice to her wound, he didn't find any scratch, not even a scar. He stared at her worried, the other way was to feed her the juice but it won't last long, applying to the wound will reduce poison concentration and keep her heart beating, but he had no choice, he raised her head up slightly, and fed her the juice. "the wound immediately disappeared like it never existed, only the symptoms are surfacing",he recalled, "Are there any other herbs you can use?", The prince Asked "There's this particular plant, but it's very rare", he paused, "Bleeding rose", he said "Bleeding rose?", The prince repeated, "do those flowers still exist?, He asked surprised. He once read in a book that the flowers died when the princess died, her death took away most of the useful flowers, including "Angel's tear", the flower could bring dead back to life, it's said to possess magical abilities. Rumors have it that the flowers are growing in the far end of the earth, a place where they couldn't think of, but if the 'bleeding rose' was the only way to heal his friend, he'll gladly go to the ends of the earth to search for it. "The flower exists in a human kingdom, the kingdom of Bonlake", Philip said "Then we'll set out to the human kingdom first thing tomorrow morning, for now monitor Starfire's health and get some rest", he ordered. "Yes, your majesty", Philip bowed and returned to the tent. "Humans", he muttered under his breath. After a while, he returned to the tent to get some rest. The night was far spent.
