By the time the celebration wound down, the sun was setting in a blaze of orange and pink. Most of the pack had wandered back to their cabins, stomachs full and spirits high. I was exhausted, the emotional weight of the day settling on my shoulders like a physical burden. All I wanted was to curl up somewhere quiet and process everything that had happened.
"Before you disappear," Emily said, approaching where Kieran and I sat with my friends, "Gabriel and I have something to show you both."
Kieran raised an eyebrow. "Can it wait until tomorrow? It's been a long day."
Emily's face broke into a rare, wide smile. "Trust me, you'll want to see this tonight."
What is it? I signed, curiosity temporarily overcoming my fatigue.
"A surprise," Gabriel said, joining us. "Not far from here."
