A mistake. One night of moaning in his hands… only to find him sitting at the dinner table hours later.Victorio Rinaldi. That's what my husband called him—his long-lost nephew who’s suddenly back in town. And the man I am ordered to spy on for information… and to destroy for my freedom— for my sister’s freedom. But this mission turns into something far more dangerous. He’s dangerous. Captivating. Infuriating. And not good for my soul.He knows my secret—and he’s using it to trap me in his bed again and again. Now I’m caught between two monsters. One wants to possess me. The other wants to own me completely. And I’m not sure which is more terrifying… or more tempting.CHARACTERIZATION:Name: Corabelle Dalton now Rinaldi (FL)Age: 21Physical description: Brown skin, 5 '7, slim thick, burgundy wavy hair, brown almond eyes, full pouty lips, tattos behind her ear.Personality: In her husband’s premises, she’s submissive, fear driven, cautious, calculated, resentful and angry (internally), desperate.Around Rio (not in her husband's premises), Defiant & bold, passionate & reckless, fearless, raw, independent & alive. C1. The Runaway Bride
My feet are cold against the floor of the highway. My heart is racing. I keep looking back, if they find me I'm dead. I don't know where I am. But I think I'm far enough. From the noise. From the guests in tuxes and dresses plastering full-blown smiles on their faces, extending congratulations I didn’t ask for. Meanwhile, their eyes linger—always judging. My feet sink into something cold making me slow down. I look down through blurry eyes and see white sand. The noise in my head fades away giving way to sound of waves. Trying to catch my breath, I clutch my purse tighter on my chest and walk forward. My vision finally clears, revealing the ocean glowing under the night sky, its waves dancing restlessly against each other. Peaceful. This is it. I pull out my phone texting: “I let you down, I know it. Your Belle misses you, but I can't do this anymore. I put you in this mess; I tried to keep up, but I can’t. I'm sorry. I love you.” I know I'm delusional still texting my sister after years of disappearing. Years of craving her warm bear hugs. I walk straight into the ocean, the cold swallows me whole. This is peaceful, this is what I want. This peace— not the piece of white dress suffocating me right now. Glittering. Short. And all wrong. Dressed like a bimbo instead of a bride. A smell that doesn’t belong here hits my nostrils. “Do you really want your last breath to taste like salt?” Cold deep voice. I spin my head around so fast, muscle in my neck straining, as panic explodes through my body. A man for sure. But all I see is a towering, dark silhouette. Smoke coils around him like sin, orange light glinting on his lips. He stares straight into the ocean, not sparing me a glance. Oh lord, how long has he been there? Where did he come from? For some reason, my tummy flips, is it from fear or? I try to open my already tight throat. “I-It's not what you think. I- I’m—” “My bad, I interrupted.” He takes a step forward to the edge of the shore. The moonlight’s reflection hits the side of his face, highlighting the s***h— no, the scar— across his eyebrow. A deep frown settles on his face like he's mad at me? My heart leaps. “But, you know, I don't really appreciate moving corpses off my property.” He takes the last drag, drops his cigar, crunches it under his feet, then turns without a word. My heart drops. Irritation crosses my face. Why did I expect more? Expect him to pull me out of the ocean, give me a hug, or what? Pity me? I'm not surprised they are all f*****g the same! I watch him walk away, his boots sinking into the wet sand leaving footprints like it’s his daily routine. He stops in front of a wall I swear wasn’t there a moment ago. A door. Hidden. A figure bows his head as he pulls the door open, immediately music explodes out—bass, voices, chatters— How? Where on earth am I? He goes in without looking back, shutting the door that immediately swallows it all leaving just the smoke lingering in the air and the waves of the ocean. My phone buzzes, I almost jump out of my skin. Has he found out I ran out of our wedding? Trying to steady my trembling hands, I pull out my phone. A message. Unknown number: “They are tracking your phone. Destroy it or do whatever. Now!” I think I know who this is so I text back. “I don’t think I can do this.” Two minutes she replies “b***h don’t text me back!! it’ll put you in trouble. But make sure you run away forever, make it worth it. Love you. Bye!” He’ll find me if I run to the moon— everyone f*****g knows him. Water blurs my view. I'm struggling to breathe. But— ‘Make it worth it.’ Alfeo Rinaldi waited two years for this moment. This night. He wants something from me and I'll be damned if I let him take this one thing he takes pride in. I'll let myself have this one thing for once. One time freedom. Without men breathing down my neck. My gaze moves to the hidden door. He didn't pity me. I don't know him, he doesn't know me. It's just a damn night. I walk out of the ocean and put on my heels. If I’m to ruin myself this is the perfect opportunity.
