Chapter-11

Next day Mrs. Rossi was sitting in the garden when she noticed Isabella was going out somewhere. “Izzy.” She called out and Isabella stopped and turned to find her sitting there. Isabella was trying to avoid the Rossi as much as possible so Mrs. Rossi didn’t get a chance to talk with her. But now when she was taking the initiative to call her she can’t avoid it, can she? So she walked toward her. “Hello, Mrs. Rossi.” Isabella has always respected these women. Though she has been living here with her mom as a daughter of a servant, this lady has always treated her well and also made her feel at home. Whenever she used to face a problem that was out of her mom’s capacity, she was always there to help. Unless those men inside the mansion can’t even bear her sight. She didn’t understand what happened yesterday, though. As Leonardo Rossi was watching her there was something deep, and dark. She couldn’t understand. But it made a shiver run through her body. But when she served his dinner, he was back to his normal cold self. So she thought she was imagining things, or maybe he was looking at her. Maybe he wanted to see if she was doing her work perfectly or not. Otherwise, why would he stand there and waste his time? “Izzy, this is not fair. You are back for a week and didn’t come to meet me.” Alicia whined like a child and Isabella wanted to laugh at her pout face. But she walked over and sit beside her. “I am sorry. I thought if I go inside the meet you, someone won’t like it.” Isabella didn’t want to say it loud. But she didn’t have any other reason to give. “I know that day Alessandro went overboard. I am sorry for his behavior.” She pulled her hand and apologized sincerely. “No, mam. What are you doing? Actually, what he has done was not wrong. I am a servant. It doesn’t matter if I don’t work here. He has provided for my expenses all his life. I didn’t mind.” Isabella knows her place. She doesn’t dream too high, and she never wanted to wish for something she can’t afford. “Don’t think like this. I have always thought of you as my Leo.” Alicia replied and Isabella nodded. “Thanks for that. But I can never be like sir Leo. He is the son of sir Alessandro and heir of this house. I am just a daughter of a maid.” Isabella never thought of her more than that. “Ok, let’s not discuss this. Where were you going so early morning?” Alicia knows how stubborn Isabella is and she can’t change her view of Alessandro too. So why discuss this matter? “I have an interview,” Isabella replied, hesitating. “You are applying for a job? Why don’t you apply for our company?” Alicia asked excitedly. “I…” This is what Isabella was dreading. If she says why she doesn’t want to work in the Rossi corporation, maybe she would be offended. “Oh! You must be getting late for the interview right? Here I am wasting your time… Go and best of luck.” Alicia said, making her sigh in relief and she left, saying her goodbye. Only if she knew it was not the end of things. She gave Alicia the thing she was waiting for desperately. Alicia was sick and worried about her son's health. A trustworthy person who can work under his son and share some workload. Who can be better than Isabella? No, nothing can stop her anymore from entering the Rossi. Isabella was exhausted after her entire day’s struggle. She didn’t know why, but luck was not on his side. It’s been a week since she was giving an interview and nothing benefited her and she couldn’t understand why everyone was behaving so oddly. If it was not for her mom, she would have left Italy and started applying to companies in New York. She was feeling so exhausted and wanted to retire to bed, but she didn’t want to do it without a shower and before that she need something to quench her thirst. So she walked toward the kitchen and opened the fridge to pour some cold water and took a sip and s. But she didn’t know there was another person inside the kitchen and when she was trying to close the fridge someone stopped her and she cried out in surprise. “What…” She was going to snap but noticing the person she shut up. “What?” Leonardo asked as if he didn’t scare the s**t out of her. “You scared me.” She complained timidly, but Leonardo didn’t pay her any heed. and pull the glass out of her hand and took a sip from her glass. “I just…” She was trying to say that she just took a sip from the same glass but the damage has been done and what can she change even if she says it? She didn’t know whether she should complain about his sudden appearance, which scared him or become embarrassed because of the stunt he pulled. But when she was lost in the thought the devil has already left the kitchen making her stand there in her confused form. The glass was sitting on the counter and she was looking at the glass as if it did a sin. “Isabella?” She came out of her daze when Nia pushed her. “Huh?” she asked confused. “Why are you standing here like you have seen a ghost?” Nia asked, and she shook her head to deny or shake the incident from her mind she didn’t know. “Do you want water?” Nia asked and when she noticed the glass on the counter she blushed. “Are you sick? Your cheeks are red.” Nia pressed her palm on her forehead to check the temperature. “No, I am fine.” She moved back and how Nia was looking at her with a confused look she knew she was making a fool out of herself. “I should go.” She said and was leaving when Nia called her from behind. “Isabella. Mrs. Rossi was looking for you. She wanted you to meet her when you come back.” Nia informed, and she nodded but didn’t want to stay in the kitchen anymore. So she ran toward her room with a flustered look.
