They continued the rest of the car ride in silence. Derek held onto Sara’s hand the entire way home. Once they arrived at his residence, they rode the elevator straight up, and they were both greeted by Derek’s security detail.
“Mr. Walberg, a moment please,” Roger said.
Derek stepped away from Sara and made his way to speak to Roger. Sara stayed behind, but she edged forward slightly, to be able to make out some of the conversation. If he wasn’t going to tell her what was going on, she was going to do her own investigative work.
“This was a deliberate act, sir,” Roger said.
“I assumed as much, the moment I saw the car,” Derek said.
