*Ellie's POV*
Briella was a sweet girl, she had to be to make up for her appearance. She had dirty blonde hair with a bit of wave to it. Ellie, as she preferred to be called, had muddy eyes hid behind horn-rimmed glasses, and she was overweight. That's what her parents and older sister her since she was 10 years old. Her mother kept her on a strick 1000 calorie diet, her father always had her in extra fitness classes on top of the standard training of her pack. Oh yeah she's a werewolf, second born of the Gamma. Everyone made fun of her at training. No matter how little she ate or how much she worked out she was always on the curvy side. Home life may have been miserable living under constant scrutiny, but school that was a whole nother beast. Ellie was teased and bullied constantly by everyone at school. The pack kids went to the human school in town. Human and wolf alike they all teased her. Even Omega wolves she out ranked made fun of her. The worst tormentor though was Jensen, the Alpha heir. Jensen was physically gorgeous of course. Typical alpha genes ya know, smoldering green eyes, beautiful olive skin tone, with black luscious hair. Ellie often caught herself staring at Jensen, imagining what it would be like to be beautiful enough to be worthy of his attention and she hated herself for it. Jensen laughed at her constantly with his friends and whatever she-wolf or cheerleader was hanging off his arm that week.
A few weeks ago....
Jensen's best friend and future Beta, Caston, caught me in the back of the library looking for a book. He cornered me and asked "Would you like to hang out with me this weekend? A picnic at the falls and maybe a swim?" he said.
Cas was usually sweet, helping pick up my books when Jenson knocked them out of my hand or taking me to the private ranked wolf gym to run through workouts when he could tell I was at my breaking point with the constant torment. He has Auburn hair, blue eyes, and a dusting of freckles across his pale cheeks. No matter how much he trained in the sun his skin stayed a creamy ivory.
I stammered a weak "S-sure, why not." He smiled a crooked grin grabbing a loose strand of my hair and gently tucking behind my ear. "Until then."
I thought this was the beginning of my happily ever after until I showed up....but Cas didn't. I sat there at the edge of the lake watching the waterfall and crying until I fell asleep...I awoke when the moon was high and my life changed forever.
**Jensen's POV**
Being the future Alpha is stressful. Everyone expects you to act a certain way. Treat the deserving special, treat the lesser wolves as nothing more than tools for your pleasure and amusement. The Alpha male persona right? Is that really what being an alpha male is, or is it what we have just been made to believe? I wonder as I watch this beautiful creature from the corner of the gym. I woke up early this morning, like every morning, to get my pre-work out in before training. But like every morning this past week I have just stood watching wishing I hadn't been the i***t I was in the past. Her skin glistening with sweat as she squats more than my father's gamma ever dreamed. Admiring her perfect backside, as she performs yet another rep. I am so ashamed I ever made fun of her figure, when now all I can think of is how amazing it would feel to wrap her soft form in my arms, and give that butt a firm squeeze.
Later that day I was in the library dodging math, by the Goddess why do I need calculus?! Tucked away in a small alcove behind the last row of books when I heard a startled gasp. I peek over the gap in the books to see my best friend asking Ellie, the goddess I have devoted my mornings to silently worshipping, out on a picnic. No, not her Cas, was all I could think. A picnic at the waterfall was Cas' go to move for a one night stand. I quickly shot him a text and said we needed to talk. That night I forbid him from ever speaking to her again. Harsh, I know, but if you just hear me out you will understand why.
Saturday was my 18th birthday, I officially got my wolf. I went out for my first run that night coming across the most amazing scent, lilies and cinnamon rolls, my mouth watered and I kicked it in high gear following the scent. I found her laying beside the lake, her beautiful dark blonde hair with strawberry blonde streaks shined in the moonlight. Trails of dried tears stained her face, my wolf Luca let out a soft whimper as he licked her tear stained face. She sat up quickly her beautiful hazel eyes wide with fear and admiration. She bared her neck in submission knowing by my size I was an Alpha wolf. Luca sniffed her neck then nuzzled his head in the crook of her neck "Mate" he grumbled to me as he wagged his tail at her like a common lap dog. "Man she is only 17, besides she hates me."
Now I have to figure out how to make my mate forgive me before she realizes we are mates and rejects me.
