Chapter Four

Marcus

“Sir, do you need anything?” someone asked behind my back. It was my secretary.

“No, I’m good” I replied. She smiled at me.

“Okay, sir. Just making sure you're good before I leave,” she said.

I smiled at her.

“You can go home now, Nat. I’m just finishing this bunch of papers that my boss should do, instead of me” I replied to her, shaking my head.

“Goodbye sir,” she said and laughed.

“Okay, bye.” Take care of yourself. I still need you here tomorrow,” I answered, and chuckled.

She giggled and excuse herself to leave my office.

I continued what I’m doing and when I look my wristwatch; it was already 7 pm.

I clear all the papers on my desk and turn off my computer. I grab my coat and left my office. While walking towards my Red Ferrari, I had some human blood tonight, it's been from my last feed from a human. I placed my things in the backseat and drove off to the usual bar I hang out.

After 30 minutes of driving, I arrived at the bar. Luckily, the night is still young and the parking lot is not yet fully occupied by customers.

I park my car near the entrance and get off.

I walked towards the entrance and was greeted by the guard.

“It’s been a long-time sir after your last visit here.” the guard said, and he opened the door.

“Been very busy at work, Ben” I replied.

I entered the bar; I look around and saw a few people drinking. I walk to my usual spot and order some beer.

After a few bottles of beer. I heard a girl order some beer, beside me. I look at her face and damn she’s gorgeous. I smiled and finally; I found the right girl for tonight. I facade my best charming smile and approach her.

“Hi” I greeted her.

She looked at me with a sparing smile.

“Hi” she replied.

“I’m Marcus. Nice to meet you,” I said, introducing myself.

“My name is Alice,” she replied. She gave me a seductive smile.

She smells good and sexy. I want her. I thought to myself.

She seated me at my table and we both drank together. Alice laughed at my jokes. She was even more beautiful, but there’s something about her. I simply look at my watch without her knowing and it's already midnight.

I started my plan. I hold her chin and kissed her. And she kissed me back. I kissed her neck and run my fingers under her thigh. She moaned in between our kisses.

I can smell her arousal. I felt my bulge growing in my pants.

“Let’s get out of here,” I said, and she nodded. We walked towards the back exit. I lead her to a dark part of the restaurant. I pushed her against the wall and kissed her roughly. Her hands unbuttoned my shirt. I saw lust in her eyes. And I smiled.

“Be mine tonight,” I asked.

“Yes,” she said, and I crashed instantly her lips with mine. She parted our lips and kissed my neck, biting it. I felt a surge of sensation from what she did.

And then I felt her fangs sink into my neck. I felt the pleasure and pain. I looked at her red eyes. She pulled herself away and in a blink of an eye, silver knifes formed behind her back.

“It’s time for you to die” She menacingly said and then all the silver knives flew towards med.

I dodge her attack and blend myself into shadows. She looks around. Another set of silver knives formed behind her back.

“Come out, come out wherever you are,” she said while walking, with an evil smile on her face. “After I am killing you, I will kill your boss,” she said.

I am shocked by what she said. My wound healed. I deep breath and dark smoke came out from my hands and went towards Alice. My smoke wrapped and paralyzed her body, making all the weapons fall to the ground. I show myself to her. My eyes changed to golden red as my vampire side become to the surface.

“Who are you?” I growled at her.

“Oh, dark magic manipulation, gracious gift. But you can’t kill me, alone,” She said and looked behind my back.

And then I felt another presence behind my back. Before I turn and face who is it.

It kicked me to the ground. My smoke disappears and releases Alice. I stood up but she summons silvers knives again towards me. I dodge it again before it hit my body.

We caught some attention as I heard a few steps running towards us.

Alice smiled. “It’s your lucky night,” she said before they disappear.

I breathe heavily, I must tell Nikolas about this. I run towards my car with my vampire speed and drove off towards Nik’s house.

Nikolas

I was in my deep slumber when I heard someone banging my door.

“Nik, open the door!” Someone said behind the door. It was Marcus.

What is he doing here? I groaned and lazily walked out of my room. I’m on my way to the door when I saw Marcus already sitting on my couch drinking a bottle of beer.

I looked at him, and he seems tense. He looked at me.

“They attacked me,” he spoke.

“What?” I replied, in my groggy state.

“A woman attacked me in the bar.” He growled.

I laughed. He woke me up at this hour, just to tell me a woman attacked him. He seriously looked at me.

“A female vampire attacked me in a bar and she knew about us.” He said.

I feel my forehead wrinkled from what he said.

“What, a vampire attacked you? Are you insane, only you and I are here in the human world, remember?’ I replied to him.

“That woman bit me and attacked me with her weapons!” he yelled at me.

I looked at him and I remember something.

“Maybe it’s her,” I whisper.

“Whom? Do you know her?” he asked.

“I think that was the woman who saved me in the forest 18 years ago,” I muttered.

“Then why does she want to kill me?” Marcus asked.

“I don’t know, we need to find her,” I said and looked at him.

“Her name is Alice, and her gift is powerful. She can summon weapon, silver knives” Marcus said drinking the last liquid in his bottle.

“And she's with a man, she will kill us both,” he said.

I looked at him with narrowed eyes and I feel my eye change color to golden red.
