Between Two Mates

Chapter 4

“Alright everyone. Great job today. You may be dismissed”, I told my pack. We had been training since five thirty this morning and it’s now nine in the morning. I was happy to see that even though we’re in a new place they still gave it all they had in training. I’m very proud of my pack.

‘I want mate’ Rea whines. All morning she has been showing me images of the things she wants to do to our mate. For us, it is normal to mark and mate our mates when we first find them. We are werewolves and we are very s****l.

‘I know you do, Rea, but you have to remember that our mate is the Alpha of the largest pack in the country. He’s probably busy right now and we have other things to do’, I reminded her. She huffs before lying down. I got up and walked back to the pack house. I go to the dining room and grab some breakfast. I have a lot of work to do today. The pups wave at me as they pass by with their parents. I quickly finished my breakfast then headed up to my room. I walk in the bathroom, turn on the shower and undress. I wash my hair, wash my body, shave, and wash my body again. I turn off the shower, dry myself, then go out to the room. I put on some gray leggings, a black tank top, and black sneakers. I brush my hair and leave it to dry naturally. I leave my room and head to my office to do some work. I need to find a school where my pack members can go without any trouble. I also need to get us a vehicle or two. A knock echoes in my office.

“Come in”, I called, as I continued with my work. I stopped for a few minutes to give my pack member my attention.

“Hi Thomas. What can I do for you?” I asked.

“Alpha, some of us wanted to know if we could grow some of our food”, Thomas asks. We have always grown our own vegetables and fruits back in Puerto Rico.

“Sounds good, but remember things are different here than back at home. Pick a spot and let me know what you’ll need”, I said.

“Thank you Alpha”, he bows his head and leaves. Another knock echoes in my office.

“Come in” I called. Miguel enters the office with a smile on his face.

“I brought you some dinner since you missed lunch” he says, placing the tray on the table by the window and my head snaps towards the clock. It’s seven o’clock at night. I had been so busy doing pack work that the hours passed by like it was nothing.

“Thank you Miguel. I have been so busy I didn’t even notice the time go by” I admitted.

“I understand. We have all been like this today, but now that everything is back to normal, things should get better”, Miguel says.

“Yes, I emailed Beta Shane to see which school we can put the pups in without causing any trouble with other Alphas. He gave me the names of two schools. One for elementary and middle school and the other is a high school. I also bought two vehicles for our pack to use”, I informed him.

“Awesome. I bought a car and so did Victor. Anyways, I’ll let you eat. I have border patrol tonight”, Miguel says. Yes, we also go on border patrol.

“Thanks again Miguel. Let me know if you need anything”, I told him. He nods and leaves the room. I sighed, getting up and walking to the table. I sat down and saw it’s fried chicken, rice, beans, tostones (twice fried plantain slices), and avocado. I smiled to myself. Even though we left Puerto Rico, the cooking never changed. I sit down to eat and my wolf whimpers. I know she wants to see our mate. He did say he was going to come by today, but I guess he was too busy to come by or maybe he’s not happy about me being the Alpha of my pack. I was just finishing up my food when I got a link.

‘Alpha, I caught an unknown scent on the East border’ I heard Samuel say through the link.

‘I’m on my way’ I link back. I drink some of the water before running out of the pack house to the east border. As I got to the east border, I caught the scent Samuel was talking about. I could see Samuel looking tense.

“Samuel” I said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

“Alpha” he bows his head before looking back out to the tree line.

“Before I caught the scent I saw a figure move at a very fast speed. I don’t see it anymore but I can smell it and feel that it’s out there”, Samuel says. I can feel it and smell it too. Suddenly, I hear a screech from my right. It moved at great speed. Samuel growled, getting into a fighting position. My eyes glowed red not knowing what the scent belonged to, and it could be dangerous. Out of nowhere, another figure appeared to my left. It stopped and looked at me with an incredibly sexy smile. His fangs stood out, not to mention the blood on his chin and chest. I know I should have been scared, but I wasn’t. Then it clicked in my mind what I was looking at.

Impossible.

Vampires had long gone into hiding. Some even thought that they had perished from the face of the earth. The vampire growled lowly when the female vampire took a step towards Samuel.

“My apologies, we didn’t know this land was taken” the vampire to my left said.

“It is now” I said, letting out my Alpha aura.

“A female Alpha”, the female vampire to my right hissed, but I could also hear shock in her voice.

“One of a kind and a true beauty”, the vampire to my left smiled, bowing his head in respect. Samuel looked at me a little confused. I noticed four more vampires coming and standing behind the vampire to my left.

“Again, my apologies for almost trespassing” he smiled before turning around.

“What’s your name?” I asked, knowing in any second he could use his speed to leave.

“I’m Koslov” he says over his shoulder.

“I’m Alpha River” I say, and he nods before using his speed to leave.

“Shall we be worried, Alpha?” Samuel asked.

“I didn’t feel any threat from them. The blood on their faces and clothes was from an animal, but they still kept an eye open in case they decided to return. I’ll send more patrols”, I told him. I link my patrol and let them know what just happened in case the vampires returned and decided to attack, but I doubt it. If they wanted to attack, they would have done it if it was just Samuel and I. I then sent more patrols to double it for the night. I ran back to the pack house. I greeted a few people, then headed up to my room and into the bathroom. I turned on the shower and undressed myself. I get in the shower, wash my body and I let the warm water massage my muscles. After about fifteen minutes, I got out of the shower. I towel dry myself then wrap the towel around my body. I walked out of the bathroom and stopped when I saw a figure by the window. I growl, my eyes turning red when the scent of blood orange, fresh lemon, roses, and lavender fills my nose and I know it’s my mate. He turns and looks at me. His eyes widen when he sees me, well, more like my eyes.

“Your eyes” he whispered. I take a deep breath, calming myself feeling my eyes go back to normal.

“What are you doing here, Alpha Tristan? It’s late”, I told him.

“I know. I’m sorry. I was caught up with work”, he tells me. I see his eyes darken as he looks at me from head to toe. I feel the heat in the room identify and I feel my core throb. He reaches out for me, pulling me towards him and kisses me. He wraps one arm around me and the other goes to my hair. He deepens the kiss and I feel heat pool between my legs. Tristan pulls back and growls lowly.

“Tristan” I whimper.

“I smelled your arousal, kitten. What were you thinking about?” he asked, kissing my neck and nipping at the sweet spot. Whatever was keeping me together has snapped.

“Y-you… making me love to me” I admitted breathless. His left hand cups my right breast kneed and massages my breast.

“Tristan” I whimpered again.

“What do you want, kitten?” he asks. His voice was deep and husky. He kissed me down my neck.

“As you wish, my love,” he growls. Tristan reached between my legs and pinched my bud, making me arch my back. He removes my towel and drops to his knees and plunges his tongue into my depths.
