FIFTY-EIGHT Jimmy Tomlinson rode his bike along Green Street and into Redemption Park. He was a baker at an artisan bakery that baked hearth and sourdough breads, multi grain and leavened white breads, pagnottas, ciabattas, and focaccia, one of four such bakeries that had sprung up on the island. He rose every morning at 4.30, and whenever possible rode his bike to work. He was a passionate cyclist and environmentalist, doing all that he could to reduce his carbon footprint, only ever taking out his car or catching a bus if the weather were too bad to cycle.
