Hours had passed since that dreadful call. That asshole's words loomed over us as I glanced across the table at a quiet Mila. We hadn't told her yet..I don't know why everyone keeps her in the dark. Blake thinks this will be the final straw that breaks her. He thinks she will sacrifice herself for Rowan..and I think why the hell not? Mila isn't some damsel in distress. I saw a side of her that has been buried deep, one that only the threat against her mate could drag out.
