THE CRIMSON ROSE
Yvonne had always been fascinated by roses. Their beauty, their elegant fragrance, and their timeless charm captivated her like no other flower could. She spent hours tending to her rose garden, carefully pruning and nurturing each delicate bloom.
One day, as she wandered through her garden, Yvonne noticed a particularly stunning rose. Its petals were a vibrant shade of crimson, and its scent was intoxicating. She knew she had to have it in her house, where she could admire its beauty up close.
Yvonne carefully cut the rose from the bush and brought it inside, placing it in a crystal vase on her dining room table. She couldn't help but smile every time she caught a glimpse of its radiant bloom.
But as the days passed, Yvonne noticed something strange. The rose seemed to be wilting faster than usual, its once vibrant petals beginning to droop. No matter how much she watered it or placed it in the sunlight, the flower continued to fade.
Distressed, Yvonne sought out the wisdom of an old gardener to the Smiths, Mr Johnson, who had been tending roses for decades. He gently explained to her that the rose she had taken was not meant to be cut from its bush. It was a wild rose, meant to thrive in nature, not in a vase inside a house.
Yvonne felt a pang of guilt for taking the rose away from its home. She vowed to never again pluck a flower from her garden. Instead, she would admire their beauty in nature, where they belonged.
As she returned the fading rose back to her garden, she felt a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that true beauty was not meant to be confined, but to be celebrated in its natural form. And from that day on, Yvonne's rose garden bloomed more beautifully than ever before, a testament to her newfound respect for nature's beauty.
she is the only daughter of the Smiths and the billionaire heiress to the Smith empire. Yvonne's beauty is unparalleled in the gorgeous city of Accra earning her the number one spot on the list of beauties. she has a soft spot for nature and this adds a delicate nature to her fierce, composed and elegant status.
It has been a month since she returned from college. besides attending lavish and high-end parties, she remains indoor or tends to her flowers in the garden. But despite her wealth and prestige, she often found herself feeling lonely and disconnected from those around her. She longed for genuine connection and friendship, someone who would see her for who she truly was, beyond the glitz and glamour of her privileged lifestyle.
One evening, she called her childhood friend Prisca to meet her at a famous restaurant after going through her long lost contact book which was handed to her by one of her maids who had finished cleaning her room. They have been out of touch with each other after completing high school. Prisca was the free spirited type, she envied Yvonne since childhood and was the type who could easily masked her feelings. To Yvonne, Prisca is her only friend but to Prisca, Yvonne is a torn in her flesh and needs to be uprooted.
Prisca was lying on one wooden mattress after a hard day's work when a call with unfamiliar number came through. she was hesitant to pick up thinking it was a call from the loan sharks his father was owing. she has been harassed on several occasions due to the addictive gambling nature of his father. she could do nothing about her father's attitude. Her only prayer has been to secure a decent job and leave her father's rented apartment. Her mother left them, when she was only six years old . she hesitantly picked up the call only to hear the familiar voice which has also been her nightmare. Prisca's memory took her back to the happy moments of her life when her mom and dad were still together.
Prisca's dad used to be a security personnel in the Smiths empire but he lost his job when he started drinking alcohol whilst on duty after his wife left him for another man. it was through her father's work she got to know the infamous Yvonne Smith who became her friend. As a result of their friendship, the Smiths sponsored Prisca so she could attend the same high school as Yvonne. This strengthened their friendship.
In high school, Yvonne and Prisca were in different classes. Yvonne studied Arts whilst Prisca was in the science class. Both were good students who topped their respective classes. They were seen together Everytime on campus earning them the nickname inseparable sisters. To outsiders Yvonne and Prisca were seen as sisters; Prisca paled slightly in beauty to Yvonne.
Prisca's enviness of Yvonne stemmed from the fact that Yvonne stole her lover in high school. she was about recollecting those moments when Yvonne's voice came through the call again waking her up from those memories. will you go? that was all she heard from the conversation which had almost being twenty minutes. if her memory serves her right, there was only one place Yvonne always call her to. she responded in the affirmative and hunged up the call.
Yvonne Smith could hardly contain her excitement as she walked into the bustling restaurant where she and Prisca had agreed to meet. She had been looking forward to catching up with her old friend for weeks, and finally, the day had come.
As she made her way through the crowded dining room, Yvonne spotted Prisca sitting at a small table near the back of the restaurant. Prisca looked up and waved animatedly as Yvonne approached, her warm smile lighting up her face.
"Yvonne! It's so good to see you!" Prisca exclaimed as Yvonne reached their table. They exchanged a quick hug before sitting down, the excitement palpable in the air.
"I've missed you so much," Yvonne said, taking in the sight of her friend. Prisca looked as radiant as ever, her dark hair cascading down her shoulders in loose waves. She wore a simple yet elegant black dress that accentuated her slim figure.
"I've missed you too," Prisca replied, her eyes shining with emotion. "It's been too long since we've had a chance to catch up."
Over the next few hours, Yvonne and Prisca talked and laughed, reminiscing about old times and sharing updates on their lives. Yvonne told Prisca about her recent project in college and how she was thinking of taking a much-needed vacation after everything. Prisca not wanting to feel odd lied to Yvonne about being in college on a sponsorship and how life has been good.
As the evening wore on, Yvonne realized just how much she had missed their conversations and the easy camaraderie they shared. Prisca had always been a source of inspiration and support for her, and being with her again felt like coming home.
Before they knew it, it was time to say goodbye. Yvonne and Prisca hugged tightly, promising to not let so much time pass before they saw each other again.
As Yvonne dined with Prisca at the restaurant, a smile tugged at the corners of her lips. Meeting Prisca had been just the boost she needed, and she felt grateful to have such a wonderful friend in her life. She knew that no matter what the future held, their bond would always remain strong.
Enter Jacintha Bob, a feisty and spirited young woman who worked as a waitress at the restaurant. Jacintha accidentally spilled a drink on Yvonne when passing by their table to serve another VIP of the restaurant. Instead of getting angry, Yvonne was intrigued by Jacintha's unapologetic attitude and sharp wit.
Prisca stood up and slapped Jacintha on the right cheek for being insolent
