Sugar. Like the dew drops in the morning, It is sweet and refreshing. Sugar. / Warmth. Like the flames of the bon fire, It is what you desire. Warmth. / Closeness. Like the pillow at night you embrace, It will calm your heart's race. Closeness. / Laughter. Like the sound of a mighty bell, It is the sound your lips tell. Laughter. / Peace. Like the waves crashing on the shore, It will make you want more. Peace. / Family. Like the bees that swarm together, It promises to stay forever. Family. / Joy. Like the smile on the face of a child, It will tame what has gone wild. Joy. / Pride. Like a thousand cherished victories, It is burned into your memories. Pride. / Gentleness. Like the softness of an angel's wing, It will make your heart sing. Gentleness. / Longing. Like the blanket you're always missing, Its absence feels like nothing. Longing. / Disbelief. Like a traitor you can't trust and forgive, It is what you willl receive. Disbelief. / Lies. Like a thief desperate for escape, It is nothing but fake. Lies. / Pain. Like the coal that burns your fragile soul, It will never be made whole. Pain. / Hate. Like the the fire you once dearly felt, It makes your crumbling heart melt. Hate. / Death. Like the dahlia that blooms and dies, It has killed your soul with lies. Death. / Nothing. Like the song this poet once sought, It is what love hath brought.
