Her heartbeat quickened as they approached the city. She clenched and unclenched her fist. Her palms were damp with sweat.  Just a moment before, she was flying above the city with Arkan. She was giggling and enjoying the view then. While her people were taken by force and were suffering.  Stupid.  She was too caught up in the hope of breaking the curse, in Arkan's honeyed promise.  No. She would be a liar if she said that.  The truth was, she was too caught up in the warmth, the fun, and comfort that the Misted Forest had given her that she forgot her people were still vulnerable.
